OK, it has just about every sci-fi cliche that you can think of, but it’s soooo much fun!

Classic. The image does look better and sound quality is better than what i remember.

The sound quality is excellent and the graphics are better than 1080p but not by much.

This movie is a sci-fi classic in my opinion and it is better than the sequel.

Very good SIFI concept movie. It keeps your attention and has plenty of action.

I consider myself a fan of this movie. From the first time I watched it till now, it still gives me the excitement as if I'm watching it the first time. Probably it's the nostalgia. I have a digital copy a long time ago and decided to buy the physical media as it will give you better picture and sound quality without any compression. So far the picture quality and the sound is great considering this is an old movie and an early release where 4k bluray was just starting.

In the item description it says this is a DVD, but it's pictured as a blu-ray and the other reviews also speak of hi-def. I wanted the blu-ray and the price is a fraction of what other sites sell it for, so I took the chance and ordered it. It is definitely the blu-ray (hopefully best buy will correct the listing description from DVD). All that aside, this is still a fun, entertaining movie. Great HD transfer with excellent audio. The special effects are dated, but considering the movie is nearly 20 years old and had a certain amount of camp to begin with, it only adds to the entertainment value. Sequel is set to come out within a couple years so I imagine there will be another release of this, but for the price this is a bargain.

The original ID4 is the best! Love the 4D clarity - special effects look good.

Granted, I hadn't seen this movie in over 10 years. I have no doubt that it looks miles better than the original releases, but it's still an older movie and visual quality and clarity doesn't quite compare to new films. Bust still, looked good and sounded good. No hard complaints. If you like the movie, go for it.

Independence Day has always had a special place in my heart. And this Blu-ray release is excellent. Great sound and visuals. The special effects also hold up surprisingly well even after all of these years. It has some pretty funny writing and a great performance from Will Smith. If you haven't seen this movie, I would definitely recommend that you do. Although, if I remember correctly there is a "Director's Cut" of this film and this is not it. This is just the theatrical release. I seem to remember some scenes from my DVD that were not on this Blu-ray. So if that matters to you, I would seek out the version that includes the longer cut.

4K disc looks great. Includes Blu-Ray copies. Digital copy is a bit disappointing. Code showed as expired and didn't redeem in VUDU. Did redeem in Movies Anywhere and gives 4K copy but other services don't seem to offer 4K in this film (yet?) so it transfers to others (VUDU/Google Play/etc) as HD.

this movie is fun to watch from aliens blowing stuff up to will smith

Not as good as the first but still a good show and entertaining.

I bought it and whole family wacthed it. Everyone in family emjoy it.
