Old films do really look better in 4K than the new ones. What most people don't know is newer films are actually shot in 4K and remastered in 2K for easier editing. The old ones that are actually preserved in film, and scanned in 4K look phenomenal, and this is no exception, Yeah it looks a little bit more grainy than normal because it was shot on super 35mm but still a spectacle for the eyes, We need more nineties films to be released in 4K.

One of the best sc-fi movies, now with the best sound and great picture. A true classic if there ever was one.

Great Sci Fi movie. Not anywhere near Star Wars, but then again what is? Plenty of action and Will Smith is both funny and makes his caracter interesting and bleavable. Great special effects and storyline, not just the same old stuff of aliens coming to Earth to wipe humans out and destroy the Eath and it's up the good old USA to defeat them. This time the whole world's involved! Yes, we(the USA) are in charge, but we need help.

ID4 in 4K UHD looks incredible. This is an older transfer from 2016, but still looks amazing in 2023. Highly recommend. A great sci-fi film with shades of War Of The Worlds and other alien features from the 1950s.

Some movies don’t have much of an increase in picture or audio quality for the 4K, and that’s not the case here. Fantastic. 4 stars because every copy of this movie in store had broken pieces for the disc tray in the case, which isn’t a dealbreaker for me as I have replacement cases, but may be for some.

Independence Day was my favorite movie in the late 90s. The true definition of a summer blockbuster. Looks awesome in 4k. Bought it on sale for less than $10.

Super great movie from back in the day. I remember when I see this movie in the movie theater. The 4K quality is great. I got totally recommend it for any word on that remembers this movie.

To tell the truth when blue ray came out I couldn't see a big difference between DVD and blue ray. 4K blue ray on the other hand I see the difference. It is almost a sensory overload to the eyes as the blacks are incredible black and the whites incredibly white. With the 7.1 audio that my Samsung N950 sound bar delivers it delivers a phenomenal experience on a great sci-fi film.

This movie looks good in 4k. They did a good job and I believe it is a true 4k format of the movie. The detail is good and is better than the previous blu ray version of the movie. I think they did another round of remaster with the 20th anniversary and this version comes with updated sounds of Dolby Atmos, if you find it on sale def must buy.

I can't believe it's been 28 years since this movie came out. Just as good when I first saw it.

This was and still is the perfect movie for our national holiday. Its message still rings true and we can learn from it: this is our planet and we all live here together regardless of affiliation or beliefs. Great action, awesome story, and terrific special effects especially for its time. I have it ready for this Thursday :)

It's kinda incredible after all these years after 1996 this movie is still fun to watch. Even more so when it's not on VHS! The Blu-ray quality is incredible and sharp, what were we watching before?? Plus this came with a digital copy so I can watch it online anywhere, anytime. This was a great purchase and value.

When you have 4k tv and player you need to take advantage of dynamic brightness and color. Watching again in 4k was like watching for the first time. WOW

Independence Day is a crazy good movie! If you seen it then you know how good it is. If you haven't seen it, go immediately right now to Best Buy buy it and watch it. If you don't have a 4K TV, buy one while you're there so you can see it in 4k. The CGI and Jeff Goldblum in all of his glory, needs to be seen in 4k!!!!!

This was a great movie to begin with and now adding all the bonus materials and the bluray technology - this is a MUST HAVE for any scifi collector! The 20th anniversary edition is full of bonus materials and behind the scenes data that's almost more fun than the movie itself! This is a true gem in the scifi genre!

A cult classic! This movie should be in every person's movie library. I was not as impressed with the 4k effect as I thought I would be.

...and this is what started it. I'd love it if he'd just do sci-fi movies from this point forward. Yes, it's full of unlikely "fixes" to problems, etc., but it's still a great time. Plus, freaking Jeff Goldblum. I'd like to have a version of this with better packaging, but I'm still happy with the purchase.

This 20th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray is out of this world when played on a 4K TV using a 4K blu ray player. Its almost as if you were there with Will Smith and company, and the action is non-stop. It came at a great price, and included the digital copy, which is now in my VUDU library. Thanks Best Buy!
