I found this set to be a decent value considering you're getting both Bluray and DVD (which I always try to pick up packages with both when possible). I did consider the combo pack that had both Independence Day movies in it instead, as I do not have the original movie on Bluray yet, but I was turned off by paying significantly more than I did for this movie but only getting Bluray and not DVD disks as well for the price. I think a set that included both movies in both formats would be a welcome option.

Well they say the sequel / prequel can never match up, well this onw even with bringing a plot and players from the original didn't come out very well.

Movie starts off right where the characters from the last movie ended. Plenty of plot twists and action packed.

This film is a trip down Memory Lane. Most of the characters from the original are back and it's nice to see how they've grown. The plot, while there are a few new twists, is pretty much the same as the original, just on a larger scale. The extras are sparse as studios seem intent on forcing consumers to shell out more money for the blu-ray or 4K versions to get the good extras. So, while this film didn't blow me away like the first one, I'd still recommend it, just wait until it's on sale.

Held me spellbound. Great movie for those of us who are into this type thing.

Very disappointed in this sequel. Too long and nothing different. Actually, I could have given it 4 stars because of the wonderful 4K print.

The plot makes sense: Following the invasion of 20 years ago, humanity has salvaged and taken advantage of alien technology–fully integrating it into their society. But now the aliens have returned–bigger and badder than before–and it's up to Jeff Goldblum and company to yet again find a way to repel the invasion. The problem with "Independence Day: Resurgence" is that, well...we pretty much know what to expect. Since 1996, we've seen many movies like this, and lets face it–this is a sequel long overdue (if there even needed to be a sequel). Just like in the original, this is a disaster movie with sci-fi icing...in other words, it's mostly about the human drama. It's PG-13, there's a lot of hokey dialogue, forced relationships in a futile attempt to make us "feel" something, and in the middle of it all there's...aliens. It also hurts that Will Smith is absent from this one...they got all of the core cast to return except him–it's really a shame he couldn't have been there; it would have added more credibility to the production. Nevertheless, there are a few cool elements present here. The introduction of a huge "queen" alien is cool–if a little unoriginal–and this movie carries the core story in a direction that makes sense for the franchise. It might all be starting to get a little Starship Trooper-ish, but taking the fight to the aliens themselves next time makes sense. Let's hope they can keep it together if they do proceed with another sequel.

Better movie than it’s given credit for. Not as good as the original but a solid follow up to a very good movie.

Another sequel that is worth seeing full of suspense and excitement, Even better in 3D fighting the aliens.

This a hard to find 3D movie at a great price, so for me, it’s a plus. Still got my Sony 3D tv and bluray player.

Not bad. But also not good. Mindless workout for your system. Leave your brain at the door and pop some popcorn. This is definitely not the first movie. It lacks everything the first one had. Mystery. Emotion. Shock value. In this one, we've already seen big ships. We've already seen the aliens. So there's no real connection here with this installment. That doesn't mean that it is all bad. However, there are definitely some missed opportunities. I wanted more examples on how the alien tech advanced human technology. I wanted more origin of what and where these things come from. More of their advanced tech maybe and what made them ticks. As it is, now I just see them as walking bees. Now for the good. The action is adequate and will give your system a workout..sometimes. The picture quality is pretty good and the effects are good as well. I just wished there was more. There is only one city destruction as a whole upon arrival and that's pretty much it until the climax at the end. And there will be a third installment. Will I watch it? Sure. Should you? Well, yea..if you want to find out where it all ends. One thing is certain: This movie definitely made me want to spin the first one again, and I still enjoy it more than this one. The first one was a whole story by itself. This one...well...we will just have to see if the story is worth 3 movies. I just hope it won't be ID4 Finale. Part 1. and Part 2. That would be just too much milking.

This film carries most of the original cast, with the exception of Will Smith who was to snobby and demanded to much money to make it, shame on you Will Smith, the opportunity to continue the franchise should be satisfaction in itself. This has pros and cons, the pros, it comes with 3D BD, BD, and Digital Copy, the Cons, it does not come in a steel case, the cheaper one does (WTF), and it also does not include the DVD disk. The movie itself is fairly good and continues the series.

Although not as good as the one with Will Smith it was still decent, but it wasn’t worth the wasted money!

Just as good as the original and worth watching, doesnt have will smith but there is jeff goldbloom though.

It was fun to watch the sequel after so many years. This was just as enjoyable as the first. I recommend it.

I'm a Big Fan of Independence Day. I have watched a thousand times, and when I finally read that they were making a Sequel I was worried and trilled. In this 2nd Installment, literally 20 years later the aliens came back for vengeance. Sadly there's a lot of plot holes and confusion in some elements of the film. Casting the same actors was a marvelous Idea, but sadly not having Will Smith and some other characters of the original hurt the movie. Not to mention the story....

I enjoyed the original but was hoping for more in the sequel. Price was right, so I decided to add it to my collection.

I love the artwork on this steelbook. A great addition to any collection, and can't beat it for under $10.

Lot of same actors but no Will Smith. Some good action but they showed what happened when they returned.
