If you liked the first movie, you'll like this follow up sequel. The central cast characters are back to battle the second attack. Plenty of action from start to finish.

Not as good as the first but still worth watching. Miss the character Will Smith played but you can't have it all.

Loved the first as a teenager. This one wasn't that bad but I'll admit I wasn't expecting much. Super glossy 3D presentation. Don't forget to turn that sub on.

The steel case is beautiful! I highly suggest getting the steel case. The movie, despite some critics words, is really good. I enjoyed it a lot. People didn't like the overly futuristic aspect to it but I did because it makes sense. They took the alien technology and advanced the world with it. Which we would do if we actually defeated enemy aliens.

Movie and special effects were good...however this seemed almost exactly like the first movie but with different actors. Story line was pretty much the same as before.

I saw the first movie three times the very first week it was out. Long lines and all. This one would have been worth the wait also. My husband and I saw it in the theater, no lines and very few people in the theater. I was wowed and now I can watch it anytime I wish. Great price and my son received the steel-book and bluray while I got the DVD. Not to mention great price and Best Buy was one of the few places that had the steel-book.

Loved this movie. They had most of the original cast back and what a great way to show the world 20 years after the invasion. I am ready for the 3rd movie to be made.

After watching Star Wars in 3D I was hoping for something similar and similar is all it was. Story was not as good as first and 3D effects were not as good as SW in 3D

I am a fan of the first movie; so I had to see this. It wasn't the best movie but I had 4 stars worth of fun watching it!

The movie has a lot of dark scenes which the 4K gives additional detail over the standard blue ray. Good sequel to the original movie with carry over actors and story.

I think that "Independence Day: Resurgence" was a great and amazing sequel to "Independence Day" and it also quickly became one of my favorite newest films of all-time. I really enjoyed all of the action, suspense, mystery, drama and horror that kept this film very entertaining and enjoyable. I also think that "Independence Day: Resurgence" had a creative and exciting plot and personal storylines and a really great and amazing cast.

The interaction of the characters was great. The story line was good, but the bad guy (queen) seemed a bit too powerful, while the good guys are always having to wait until the last minute before success can happen. Also, what about the very deep hole in the middle of the ocean? If it filled with water, what happened to the sea level? It also looks like a third movie is possible, but I hope it will not take 20 years to be made.

Could it have been better? Sure, but it's a popcorn flick and still worth watching (a few times even). Visuals are great and the blu-ray/4k transfers are perfect.

EVEN THO WILL SMITH ISNT PLAYING IN IT. IT TURNED OUT TO BE PRETTY GOOD. YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO REMEBER THE 1ST 1 TO REMEMBER SOME CHARACTERS. ALL IN ALL IT WAS GOOD.

This wasn't bad, as sequels go--and they came up with some interesting "applications" for the tech they harvested from the aliens in the original from years ago...

If you are a fan of the first Independence Day, then this is worth a watch. I think the first one was a little better but this one is also good.

Lots of nostalgia in this movie. Lacks character development but really hits the emotions with the nostalgia it integrated from the first movie.

Although sequels aren’t always as good as the original, this one I think has potential for getting younger fans attracted to the original’s story.

The movie was entertaining, but not as good as the original Independence Day. I did enjoy seeing some of the (older) characters that were in the first movie though.

It's a fun joy ride of a movie, just try not to think too much and you'll enjoy all the action. Clearly setting up for another movie, if not a whole series of them.
