In my opinion, just because a movie is packed full of action, doesn't exactly make it a great movie. If you want a movie that keeps the kids attention, then this movie is it. On the other hand, if you want a movie that has good acting, scenes that make since, and doesn't steal entirely from the first movie, then you may want to keep looking. I don't like giving bad reviews, but if the movie was bad, then it is what it is. It felt like they had a piece of a script, but still tried to make a movie from it. Some actors overacted their roles, while others seem to not even care about theirs. I also noticed that there were scenes that seem like they were just making up stuff as they went along, and there was a lot of unnecessary pausing while they were talking, like they thought they said their line wrong, and was waiting for the director to say, "Cut". ...I mean, why even make the movie if it wasn't complete? Why steal SO MUCH from the first movie? Were they too lazy to come up with new ideas for the second movie? They had the same seven scenes from part one. (Not necessarily in this order): 1.) Convoy of people traveling down road, while we watch conflict in one vehicle 2.) Fighter jets fighting small UFO's under big UFO, while getting shot down 3.) One UFO gets hijacked, to deliver payload of explosives to mothership 4.) One person out of their mind, until it was time to sacrifice themself 5.) Person gets snatched up by an alien and used as a puppet to communicate 6.) Driving real fast over salt flats 7.) Major city destruction with lots of deaths ...I really hate that I didn't go to the movie to see it, so I could've saved myself from having to buy it. Maybe one day I'll watch it again, but that won't be anytime soon, if at all.

This is the continuation of the invasion by the aliens. The first movie was a must see for the time, this one is just so so. If you have seen the first one and you have time to kill, go ahead and see it, but don't go out of your way to make it happen.

I purchased this for my mom who loves the original movie. I was surprised to find though I liked the plot it and all the special effects were great!!! I will watch it again and I would also buy it again.

This is a good movie to watch in 3D. The TV Manufactures need to again start adding back 3D. The Motion Picture Industry is still releasing 3D Movies. This is a great 3D movie to add to your collection.

I saw the reviews to the movie before I went and they were so so. BUT if the end of the world by alien fiends is your cup of tea this is for you. The 3D is awesome and takes a couple of viewings to take it all in.

I have the first Independence Day movie and I got this one to add to my collection. I was not disappointed. I thought it was as good as the first movie. I liked that it had some of the actors from the first movie.

Before I watched this movie I watched the first one and I can tell the first one is way better by far. The story itself....is like there was no story and they just to some kind of....nah...only 3 stars for the especial affects but no story there.

I liked this sequel. Great follow up to the first. They could have done more with it to make it a bit different than the first. It's not much different. Sets up the next one great however. Hopefully they make it.

It's not the same without will smith since he was the star of the first movie but the movie was a lot better than I expected to be. More action than the first movie and better storyline and new actors were great.

Great action sequences and surprises. A lot more Brent Spiner which I thought was a plus. Good plot twists to keep you guessing. The movie does fine without Will Smith (but he would have been nice in the movie).

If you already watch the original Independence Day movie, I recommend you to watch this film with a open mind. I purchased this because of the disscounted price of $9.99 but it didn't met my expectations even though I am easily amazed.

This movie was well put together and acted out. I was surprised by many of the incidents and loss of certain characters. To write much more would make this a spoiler. It is worth having in one's video library.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel. Many of the original actors were also included, which helps the story-line greatly. Overall...the special effects were amazing and realistic. This movie was worth every penny!!

It was not made clear how Earth recovered from the shattering first invasion (perhaps using the alien tech) but the recovery was remarkable (even for Hollywood). It did make for a good space battle in this one.

Many negative reviews but ignore them if you are into mindless fun. If you like Starship Troopers this is a must see and own. AMAZING Visuals.

Not too shabby. It was exactly what I expected. I did like the first movie more and I would have liked to see Will Smith do at least a cameo. The main guy actor was pretty good. Overall the movie was worth watching but maybe not worth buying.

DVD + Digital HD is pretty much the best combination I have found so far, my son loves watching movies in the car and on itunes at home, this met both of the needs without having to make two separate purchases.

If you enjoyed Independence Day, you are almost obligated to watch this movie. The movie is what you would expect as a sequel to Independence Day. I want to give it a higher rating, but I think "Average" is the most honest rating I can give.

I was very impressed with this movie. I love how I am able to have a high quality Blu-ray and a digital copy that works with iTunes. Vudu and and all the other off-brand digital streaming services are awful!

Wow! The Graphics 4k is more realistic to watch than Bluray,I have sony bravia 4k and xbox x plus this 4k movie is owsome..Excellent and I'm very happy and from now on 4k movies I will buy.
