Resurgence was definitely not as good as the first... Also, I think this movie was hurt by the 20 year spacing between movies.. However, in teh end the movie was pretty good. I'm hoping they do make a third movie, however I don't have much hope.

Everyone from the original was in this movie except for Will Smith. The movie takes place years after the first invasion and has the aliens returning for revenge. The movie was decent, but seemed too much like the last one with just bigger ships.

This sequel to Independance Day carries on the feel of the original with several returning stars. Fast paced movie with excellent special effects we've come to expect. Storyline is logical with enough twists to keep it interesting to the end.

Thank you Best Buy. This was one of the best shopping experiences I have had. Spoke to the help desk personnel to resolve what I thought was an issue. Was assured all was well and went shopping. When I went to check out I was informed I had more points than I thought. So I went back for another movie. The movie was this one. Wow! This was a big plot with big actors bringing it to life on my TV. The movie was emersive and held my attention all the way through and in the end you find out there is probably another movie in the future of the ID franchise. This movie did not disappoint.

This movie-sequel no. 2 has some of the original actors; which helps. It is a keep you on the edge type of movie. I would rather watch this instead of what is on tv. If sequel no. 3, with some of the original actors, came out I would buy it.

This movie has a very good plot that directly stemmed from the original. Wil Smith is missing from this movie. His presence would have brought a great deal of memories from the past. However, this is still a solid movie and is very enjoyable.

Technically speaking, this is a great bluray! If you have a quality home theater, you'll enjoy this movie. It's in Dolby 7.1, and the use of the surrounds/ directionality is truly one of the best I've encountered. It sounds clean, dialogue is clear. It's recorded a little high, so I really had to crank it up, though. The 3D is amazing. Lots of depth. Video is clean andclear. That being said, the movie itself was pretty average. It appears that it had a lit of potential, but the story seems rushed. Its choppy. Maybe it's just the editing..? I dont know. For the right price, if youre a sci-fi geek or home theater enthusiast, I would recommend it.

Independence Day is a fun, engaging, popcorn film that has held up after 20 years. Fans of the original waited for a worthy sequel, but unfortunately this is not what we wanted. This is an extraordinarily average effort, and while it is worth a watch, is not the grand followup we wanted. The acting and pacing are average, and the writers and director had some bold ideas. Unfortunately, the film is just kind of flat. This was meant to be a reboot film of sorts, with a pair of sequels to follow. The disappointing box office totals have halted production of those sequels, and so, it seems, this is the last cinematic journey we will have for this particular universe.

I'm a scifi fan always and found the sequel very good. Old characters and new characters livin' this sequel to make it an enjoyable watch. This time around we find "they" have a queen. If they make a 3rd movie we take the fight to them.

4 Stars for the movie and 5 stars for the 4k!! This is one of the few films filmed IN 4k and it looks really good on a 4k TV and worth the buy. Just research which movies are best on 4k and do not assume they are all because they are not.

I guess if the movie made more money we could get another sequel, that they made apparent at the end of the movie... that there were more to the story of why the aliens attacked earth. otherwise a good view-able movie, I have seen worse

I would say that the picture and sound would be the best reason to pick this movie up in UHD format. The movie itself is very much like the first one, but the first one being a better movie. Very nostalgic film with great visual effects.

This is a good movie fun to watch. If you have seen the original then you will enjoy this movie as well. It has a lot of characters from the first movie and follows pretty close to the first as well. Fun but not very original.

If you are expecting a sequel, you are in for a disappointment. However, if you want an action packed earth vs. alien movie, you have found it. It's not what I expected so it had to grow on me, but it is a good movie in it's own right

This one was not as good as the original in my opinion. But definitely worth watching still. I liked how they were able to get a bunch of the actors from the first one to come back. Makes it cool to watch them both back to back.

Never mind that Will Smith was the most entertaining aspect of the original movie; this one was just lacking in story. The first one incorporated humor into a sci-fi flick in a way I haven't seen before, and it seemed to work. But this film mostly seemed to rehash the previous story, but without a lot of the talent that the story began with. We bought it because I tend to buy sequels to films I already own, but if I were to do it again, I'd pass on this one. The fact that they dropped Mae Whitman to reprise her role as the president's daughter was the final nail for me. Mae is just as attractive, and a better actress than the one who replaced her.

I enjoyed the movie! Great to see story continued. I would recommend this to anyone who is a Independence Day fan! I really enjoyed the introduction of new characters along with furthering tge story for characters from the 1st move!

I love Blu-ray 3D movies and the Independence Day:Resurgence doesn't disappoint. My surround sound system also helps make me feel like I'm at the movie theater.

I loved the original movie when it came out many years ago. This sequel was done really well with a lot of the original members returning. Too bad Will Smith didn't return for a role, but at least they explained his "absence" from the movie. If you have a 3D TV with a 3D blu-ray player, then you definitely should watch it in 3D. I have seen other movies in the past in 3D that were total disappointments, but this is not one of them. If you like good action packed movies, especially in 3D, this is the movie to watch. I'm sure it is pretty good in 2D also.

But not as good as the original. They went for bigger, and it ending up being a bit too big. The character details got lost in the huge effects and globe-spanning attack. Great to watch, not sure how many re-watches it will get.
