I feel this is a pretty good movie, not as good as the first one though, but the price was great at the time, it also includes the digital HD Copy so I was able to add the movie to my VUDU library too.

Only reason it didn't get 5 stars from me is because it can't top the original. It was a great movie, really wish Will Smith had been in it though. They did a great job linking the two movies together though.

very good price for a steelbook, but when best buy runs these kinds of sales they used warehoused merch or back room merch which most of the copies they shelved were damaged. if your a collector its frustrating

I liked the alternate reality we got to see if the aliens had actually attacked. Wat we would do and the direction the world would go in. The rest was just good, fun, schlock. Buy it if you own the first one.

The original was summer popcorn to begin with, but it was pretty entertaining and had action scenes I can watch repeatedly. This belated sequel, not so much. It also shares something with the long awaited Star Wars sequel from last year, both sequels are so similar in plot and structure to the originals it's like someone dusted off the original scripts and played 'plug and play'. Still an enjoyable summer popcorn sci-fi action movie worth seeing but, even if you're a fan of the original, I'd recommend renting this one rather than buying. Unless it's 4 years from now and is really cheap.

movies were as expected, didnt have any issues, very entertaining. however i did have an issue were the digital copy code had already been used. fox was able to get me a new one relatively easy

This is a sequel to the original Independence day and the storyline is sort of weak ; but the action and the special effects really carry the film. The HDR version is worth the extra money. Good entertainment.

The movie offered a plausible continuation from the original and brought back many of the original characters. Like others, sequels often fail to live up to their originator. Still a fun popcorn movie though.

As far as sequels go, this was decent. The special effects were good and story was ok. Having most of the original cast reprise their roles was nice but it wasn't the same without Will Smith playing the lead.

when i heard that this was being made, i was looking very forward to seeing it, this was ok, not great story was interesting an i liked the way the next generation was rolled in, i know i will watch it again.

While having some weaknesses compared to original the film did a good job continuing the storyline Having former cast members added a level that tied them together Definitely something worth watching

While I loved the original independence day this one was just good. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high and some of the stuff that they did for the show were a bit hokey but it was still worth the buy.

Everyone is back except Will Smith and a wonderfully well thought out story which is exceptionally difficult to follow such a blockbuster first movie. CG is awesome and the finale is a heart stopper.

I'm surprised this film didn't come out sooner, after the original one! I liked it even though a few main character's didn't appear in the second film, it was a hit and tied the story lines together, well!

With only a little bit of a picture of Will Smith in this film, you don't really miss him at all. The dramaedy was an excellent achievement! had excitement from beginning to end. with a splash of comedy.

If you liked the first Independence Day, then you will not be disappointed by this one. There is nothing new here, massive destruction, and lots of destruction. This time the aliens are bigger and meaner.

I love the original and wished for a sequel. But this film falls horribly short of my expectations. 22 year after the og and they couldn’t come up with a better story.

Enjoyed the theater experience and watching at home, but the 3D viewing opened the movie to a new level. There don't have to be things poking through the screen to produce a realistic, involving story.

While the storyline of this movie was a bit disappointing, the 4K presentation more than made up for it. The opening scenes will test a home theatre to its fullest and the video gets an 8 out of 10.

I enjoyed the movie but as I said it was almost the same as the first movie, but with original actors made to look a little older, and the new folks different. Mostly a rehash of the original.
