I think too many people were hard on this movie. I think it was a fantastic movie that really added to the original. I recommend for anyone who loved the first. You will not be disappointed.

I saw this in the theater because I like the first movie. I purchased this so I could have both movies, The ending was so-so but I kinda liked it because it ended in a way that they could make another.

Been waiting for the sequel for almost 20 years. You have to read the book before resurgence to get a better grasp on the characters. If you are a die hard of the original, then you must read the book.

What a great future we have with all the left-over alien tech... Now the Aliens return and want a rematch. This time we have to make a stand for earth and become a planet to watch out for in the galaxy

Nice follow up to the original, but best parts were the emotional tie ins for President Whitmore and his daughter, the Levinson's and the Hiller's families. The Queen was a crazy idea, but it worked.

This movie, while loaded with all the visual and auditory bang, comes far too late to make the impact all fans of the original desired. If Will Smith had signed on this movie could have been excellent.

This is entertaining and I found the story enjoyable; not as stellar or "goose-bump" patriotic feeling generating dialog, but I felt the story was a good close to the original. They left it open a little for a possible third movie, but not so much as you feel there *has* to be something to complete #2 here. While just as good looking as his brother, Liam Hemsworth's acting felt a little "over-done" in my opinion. Still, I don't regret getting this (it was on sale - I wouldn't recommend buying at full price!) and will watch it again, just not as legendary as the first.

It was not as good because some of the original cast is not there (physically). I liked the action and what was trying to occur. Worse case I have the ability to prep for the next one..... YAY!

but the special effects were worth it. Will Smith's missing persona would have helped a LOT to this plot (I could fix that if they do a third movie?) - can't fill his shoes, but still worth watching!

Its not quite the original Independence Day, but its still a good movie in its own right. Looks really good on 4K as well! Sometimes very cheesy, but overall a good movie. One to watch every July 4th.

Not as good as the first movie but still had lots of action. Wish Will Smith was in it. Still, the picture quality was impressive on our 4K tv. Being our first 4K movie, it was a good buy for $21.99.

I've seen this movie in the theater and bought a DVD too . It's a good movie to watch . I also have the part 1 DVD of Independence Day. It's really a movie for the whole family. So get your copy now.

Seen it at the theater liked it there wanted to see it again like it just as good second time I picked up parts of a missed on the first time around enjoyed it as much if not more than the first movie

It did not do well with critics I've heard. Who cares. You have to watch this movie and leave science outside. Great effects and very funny when you pay attention. Leave reality for about 90 minutes.

I know this one and the original are more popcorn movies than serious films about similar subject matters but they are still a lot of fun. I bought this as a blind buy but since I loved the original, I enjoyed this sequel just as much, well worth it to me. If you're a fan of the first, then you'll probably like this one too. High quality picture and sound are normal for Blu-ray discs now-a-days and this one is no exception, especially if you have the equipment to give you the full experience!

This movie was just a random pick that we seen at the store. It was cheap and felt like watching something new. It was alright guess you got to be into those types of things.

definitely worth the purchase. I was a little disappointed that Will Smith wasn't in this one. The chemistry between the actors in the first movie made it great. The sequel isn't quite as exciting.

I never fault Best Buy for the quality of the DVDs that I've gotten from them. No problems with playing them ever. The movie is not the best but not so bad if a person gets a deal when buying it.

Good movie, really nice steelbook packaging and movie extras. I like the durability of the steelbooks and this one looks really cool. The movie is good (3.5 stars) and the extras improve the deal.

I loved ID4 when it came out. When I saw that a sequel was in the works, I was excited for it. When I saw it in the theater I was hooked again, just like in ID4. Buy this movie.
