I am a big fan of the original Independence Day movie and was really looking forward to this sequel. I never got to see it in theaters, so it was nice to get the movie cheap on Black Friday at Best Buy. The movie is exhilarating and more action packed than the first film. They used the same type of story formula from the first one, but it works. I was also happy to see a lot of the original actors return for the sequel. A must watch and must own.

Was not a good or bad movie. The original was much better. This one was almost made for the 8 year old crowd. Was just ok. Glad I did not pay huge money yo see at the theater.

Not quite as good as the first one, but still entertaining with lots of action and good special effects. It was fun seeing some of the original characters again. Great in 4K.

If I hadn't seen the original or first Independence day a million times maybe I wouldn't have compared this one against the other. It was a good movie and enjoyable to watch.

The 1st movie was a iconic masterpiece of film history. The storyline was great, the comedy was great, the characters were great, etc...Now this sequel is nothing of the above...It takes place in the future, which right off the bat makes you want to turn it off...but i forcefully watched the entire film. They kill off some great characters from the 1st film which is plain horrible storytelling and the storyline is weak if not fair...The battle scenes are about the only thing worth making this movie watchable...

I was genuinely shocked, I heard so much negative about this and we as a family loved it. Yes it does not have will smith but that doesn't change a really good sci-fi movie.

I admit I was scared of how this movie was going to go after the original but I was happily surprised by how good it really is. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

It really helps to have watched the first one. Some of the people in the room had to have some of the previous movie explained to them but still had a good time watching it.

Even though independence day resurgence is an action-packed thrill ride from start to finish; this explosive sequel is a tad bit one star less than the blockbuster original.

Let's get right to it.. this steelbook rocks. The movie, on the other hand, leaves a little to be expected. It's not bad mind you. It's just not quite up to the first film.

It was a decent movie, not as good as the original, but definitely not as bad as some of the reviews. Very nostalgic to see some of these characters again 20 years later.

I bought this dvd because I wanted it. I watched it and it is pretty good. Not quite as good as the first one but most movies aren't. But I will watch it again and again.

I was so looking forward to this movie! It starts out beyond my expectations but devolves into corny comic book action by the end. I really wanted to give this five stars.

This is a great transfer to 4k, looked stunning. I enjoy this film every time I watch it, just too bad we may never get the third film in the series.

I thought this movie was pretty good. Kinda sucks Will was not in it, but I thought they did a nice twist with the storyline. If you liked the first one, go grab this one.

A lot of action, decent acting, and though I like it, it seems to be missing something... (not sure if it will have a sequel, since the ending is rather open-ended style)

In my opinion, if the plot was more interesting and didn't focus on referencing the older version of the movie they might have got the main character Will Smith on board.

It's okay for a sequel. Not as good as the first movie but it seems that sequels rarely are. Lot of hype for the next installment. Not a bad movie and glad we bought it.

An enjoyable follow-up to Independence Day. Not much of a plot and very predictable. Special effects are great, but you would expect that from any Roland Emmerich film.

A lot of the Same Actors Characters are here in this Sequel , I think that this Movie was just as good as the original , Good watch . I'm not giving any spoilers here .
