The action was very well done. References back to the original movie were minimal but tied the 2 together. Might have been nice to have had more spots where Will Smith showed up as the Sr. guy from before.

The general concept should have worked: 20 years later (i.e. some time for travelling great distances across space) a new ship arrives to investigate what happened to their conquering force. Unfortunately, the execution of that concept is a mess. The special effects are fine if a bit over scaled for my taste, but bad dialog is painfully abundant, plot points are jammed in awkwardly, and we never make any personal connection to the characters that makes you care what happens to them. The 3D version is satisfactorily clean but its not enough to overcome other issues. Recommended only for completist collectors that want it to go with their ID4 copy or to add to 3D collection.

not as good as the first one, still a good watch for a sequel. I think they waited too late to come out with this one, as a movie collector, I have the first one & didn't want to miss having the second. its an average movie.

I have to say that I loved this movie. Outstanding 4k image on my 4k tv. Awesome.Good popcorn fun. There were some bad reviews but to me it was a fun, action packed movie. Pick it up at Best Buy and enjoy!!

I bought this along with the original Independence Day, both in 4K Ultra HD, to have both in my collection. I chose 3 stars but it was more like 3.5 stars. The 4K Ultra with Dolby Atmos makes it a good add to your collection.

Really good movie with a lot of action and the 4K has incredible picture this movie also has Atmos sound affect so if you have a system that has Atmos as I do, the sound is as incredible as the picture is.

Saw the first one in theatres with my grandma now passed, was able to get this and have a family gathering and reminisce. That alone was worth it for me, add to the fact that is a stellar movie as well.

After 20 years the expectations were probably too high but as a movie it's not too bad and the plot is as good as any of the movies out now a days. it also set up for what looks to be an awesome sequel.

I enjoyed this 2nd installment movie. Fun cast. Not quite as good as the first, but I will watch over and over. I enjoyed seeing some of the old cast and really liked the new ones. Definitely recommend.

If I had to grade this movie, I would most likely give it a B-. Script is not the most original although effects are good: what one would expect from a modern movie like this. The original version is much more compelling than this sequel.

I was a huge fan ofor the first, still watch it to this day. I was super excited to see this when it came out and it definitely did not live up to expectations. It had great action sequences but I thought the story lines were non-existent

Independence Day was a great standalone film for the 90s with amazing sequences . The sequel kicks it up a notch with latest cgi and while awesome it doesn't have the same appeal as the original. Nonetheless still a good popcorn movie.

This movie looks great in the UHD format, this movie is filled with special effects that look incredible in 4k. If you are a fan of the original movie or like big action movies this is one to consider.

More of the same but good old same. Will Smith is missed but other then that they did a pretty good job keeping up to the original. Great special effects for a future where humans all over the world unite verses fight amongst each other.

I took a chance on this one since we love the original so much. We thoroughly enjoyed this one as well. It was different enough from the first one to stand on its own which most sequels fail to do.

This is nowhere near as good as ID4. I think they waited too long to make sequel to this. I remember going to see the movie when i was 12, and being on the edge of my seat the whole time. But this just ehhhh. Nice visials on 4k though.

I purchased the movie in hopes that it would be good based on the actors...sadly I was wrong. With a bad script...it was like putting lipstick on a pig. The explosives were good...that's why I gave 3 stars. Save your money and rent it.

Great follow-up form the original! Purchased from Best Buy on sale with free shipping! Price couldn't be beat elsewhere! Movie had great picture and sound both in HD! Highly recommend!

In this sequel, we will get unanswered questions of why the aliens came to earth. You will also see something from the enemy that was not expected. Nevertheless, expect lots of action and adventure.

the special effects were good, but in my opinion, there was too much emphasis on the effects, and not on the story line. That being said, I still enjoyed the movie, and the 3D effects were very good. But, not as good as the original.
