Good for a house warming gift

Coincidently passed a month and a half of the insurance date. No changes to a microwave kept in the same spot all this time. Came home yesterday to it just circling on by itself. No one turned it on. Its not allowing number inputs and not heating so Im assuming I won't be allowed to get a replacement so I'm going with another brand. However it was good while it was working, Cooks fast, but I expect a lower lifespan to a microwave that isn't used too often and not moved around.
