    Bought to use until our new combo oven/microwave came in. This worked fine for the week we used it, but I could not get over a smell that often came from it. I have worked with electronics much of my life and the smell was just like the one an electrical component failing smells like. Since it hadn't (yet) died and we had used it I decided to keep it rather than go through the trouble of trying to return it for the $90 or so we paid for it.

    We bought this same microwave brand, INSIGNIA, because our old one only gave up after 6 years of using it and that's sayin' something for appliances today that only lasts 1 or 2 years, and we know that it's durable because we use it all day everyday.

    [Employee of bestbuy] Is it a cheap microwave? Yes, it doesn't have a steam sensor or anything for sensor cooking or proper microwave popcorn. But it's cheap, has a toddler/pet proof door, and get's the job done. Perfect for dorms, apartments, and anywhere else where an over the range microwave would be a terrible idea.
