Replacement for old unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My prior microwave lasted over a dozen years before the power supply finally gave out ( I rarely used it, but it's nice to have one for just in case) This Insignia unit has done everything- 1000 watts, nice dinner plate size & can't beat the price for a unit with this amount of power. The two things getting used to were the handle & not being able to key in precise cooking times without hitting timer cook first, but those were small differences for what I paid & received

I have had a few microwaves and so far this one is my favorite. I would recommend. The way to open the door is under the handle, different but you get use to it.

Excellent choice if you just need to warm up a snack but also plenty of power is you need to cook a small meal. Fits nicely on the counter and for the price, you can’t beat it.

I like the locking feature on the handle. It has multiple preset functions and it’s very quiet. The only negative thing I could say is the cord isn’t very long.

I hadn't realized how poorly the old microwave was heating things until we replaced it with this one. Some reviewers have commented on the latch on the handle and it does take a few times to get used to it, but it hasn't been a problem at all.

That is why I choose another Insignia. The button layout was about the same. No push button the open the door but I trust the new way to open the door. I feel that it is safer.
