After a couple of calls to customer service I was able to arrange a pick and delivery of a replacement item. So far new item has been great.

I have not had to defrost the freezer in that time with heavy use. However, I am seeing some ice build up around the top and in one corner. Nothing heavy and I could remove it easily without damaging the freezer, but I wanted to leave it for now to see how it develops. I will also say I wanted to get a smaller freezer, but the difference in price point along with cost of electricity rating made this freezer a better deal without being too big.
