||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Insignia 10.1 cu. ft. refrigerator thinking, “Hey, simple, sleek, does the job.” And it did—for about five minutes. Then I noticed a small defect on one of the door bins. No big deal, right? Maybe they’d just send a replacement part. Oh, how naïve I was. Apparently, Insignia’s grand solution to a tiny, cracked plastic bin is… to replace the entire refrigerator. You know, that giant, 100+ pound appliance... And since it’s “out of stock,” they can’t even do that. So I’m stuck with a nearly new fridge that’s technically “under warranty” but apparently unfixable because they can’t mail a $3 piece of plastic. Who knew buying a refrigerator would turn into a philosophical exercise about the futility of customer service? Bravo, Insignia. You’ve truly redefined “overkill.” Final verdict: The fridge keeps things cold, but so does a cooler filled with ice—and at least the cooler doesn’t require full replacement when the lid gets scratched.
