The cable works out of the box without any special software or settings. The image comes through as clear as if it was natively connected. The cable is about the same price as other online retailers that aren't named Amazon. Although I've only used it for a few weeks, it's been reliable every time I turn on my computer.

Use this as opposed to a Displayport to HDMI adapt

I bought it to avoid using a Display port to HDMI adapter because the adapter kept dropping the signal when rebooting the computer causing my users to unplug and then plug the adapter back in during a reboot and it has eliminated that problem permanently.

Does its job

This is not for HDMI in to DisplayPort out.
