It's the length I need it to be to facilitate using my TV as one of my monitors. Mostly, I appreciate that a good quality 10' DisplayPort to HDMI cable was something Best Buy keeps available to pick up when I need it.

That's what I had before and had trouble getting my computer to recognize it on boot up. This cord resolved that issue.
