I certainly apologize about the situation with your A/V Cable. The device should work properly with the compatible devices. However, I understand your situation and I want you to know that you can take advantage of the 15 day return period that Best Buy grants you for this product directly at the Customer Service counter at your nearest store with your receipt in hand so you can get a compatible cable for your purpose.

Im not sure why its saying mini to hdmi, however I CAN say that when using HDMI with most monitors I ran into an RGB issue and needed to download drivers and fix too many variables. The Display Port to Display Port cable works fantastic especially as I am using x4 for 4 monitors.. GTX1070ti in SLI mode...
