I have had this thing shred CDs, Credit Cards, Packaging Cardboard and cereal boxes. Don't not use with newspaper as it gums up in the blades! I have a unit that has a flimsy selector switch, needing to play around with it when I try to select the "Foreward" option. Other then that, I have had no complaints using this shredder. Well worth the money and the amount i been using it for

Pretty good shredder

It does its job well and is way more quiet than what it replaced (which was pretty old). Only two things kept me from giving it 5 stars. First, the shreds tend to bunch up at the each end of the blades. I did notice a great deal of lubricant there so perhaps this will abate with time. Second, due to its all black color, in poor lighting conditions it is difficult to find the feeding slot to put in my paperwork. I do recommend this unit.

Great Shredder, Get the Large One

I upgraded from the smaller version because it was easily overwhelmed and eventually the motor gave up. The larger one handles up to ten sheets much better. I recommend just starting with the larger size and avoiding the prospect of needing to upgrade later.

Do not regret my purchase

It is far superior to the old we had and it functions quite well. The Insignia shredder is an excellent by for home use, s this is where we use it.
