I hated that you had to remove the top in order to empty the bin, what a pain. If you want a shredder that has a pull out bin then it's worth paying the extra money. That is what I did. This one was unfortunately returned.

Problem is, I purchased it as a gift for my elderly mother who lives in another city, so now she has to go take care of it herself after having had only 3 weeks of use of the unit. I have had paper shredders that stop functioning before, just none that have stopped working within weeks after purchase.

Had to return it. Made a giant mess, ground so fine that it was like dust everywhere when emptying. Got hot but overheat light never came on. Same for jam light, was jammed and I thought it was dead. This is all on the first day using it!

The second time, machine did not work at all. Opened it up, cleaned the head on the interior, contacted customer service, still not working. Promptly returned with no hassle from Best Buy.

Insignia Shredder Quality issues

Best Buy was terrific and took it back, sent me a second one that had the same problem, so I returned the second one and bought a Fellowes shredder which works great.

Paper shredder overheated.

Was VERY HOT, as you can imagine running all day. Overheat shut off obviously did not work. We have contacted the manufacturer for warranty replacement or refund.
