I have several issues with this machine: 1. the basket the head sits on is TOO light. the head makes it top heavy 2: the basket needs handles so the whole unit can be lifted and moved 3: shreds tend to accumulate in a wad on the underside of the head. It requires removing the head and digging out the wad of shreds. There is a strong possibility of cutting ones fingers on the blades.

Works well. Sturdy. Doesn't clog up. Window is a helpful feature.

good shredder for the money, probably 6 or 7 sheets with no problem, tried 10, it worked but strained, good cut otherwise

It is better than I expected. It works fine with the power and helps us all three who are working from home.

strong but "auto shred" doesn't shut off until way after paper thru. (unnecessary noise) Also, if the auto button is not positioned properly it won't shred (you have to play with it)

Very good shredder. Wish it were easier to dump like our other one. Didn't notice when we purchased or we would have chosen a different one.

Got about 20 sheets through it (paper only) before it quit working. Reverse still works, power light comes on in other modes, but motor won't activate. Not on 'fwd' or 'auto.' Called Insignia customer service to see if there was troubleshooting or a known issue workaround or something and they refused to help me without getting a bunch of personal info they really don't need. Smacked it a few times out of frustration and it began working until I ran about another 100 sheets through it. It's going to be a 2.5 hour drive back to town to the store to return/exchange it and I'm not happy about it and I'm worried about what's wrong with these things where hitting it knocked sense back into it.

Failed after 14 mos of light duty, Very disappointing. Warranty folks were unmoved by such an early failure, they offered to do nothing, Will not buy Insignia Brand again. Best Buy overall has done a good job of improving over the past 5-10yrs, Time to reconsider. Hello, Amazon Prime?

A. Don’t do more than 2 sheets if you want to keep shredding. It will over heat really quickly. B. After overheating it took forever to cool down and start working again. C. I couldn’t get through shredding my 2011 taxes before it overheated. Over heating is a big problem and I didn’t even feed 10 sheets like it is advertised to do.

Definitely does not take 10 sheets of paper. 2 or 3 at the most and quits working after a few minutes because it overheats. I would not recommend this product and wish I could return mine

I have never put more than 1 paper at a time, but cut up paper is always tucked in between the blades

Just got the shredder today, and it broke on the first piece of paper I tried to feed through. I cleared out the jam, but it seems to be broken. The motor runs, but the blades don’t spin.
