This shredder is great for small office or home use. It is not an industrial grade shredder, so it is limited in what it can do. I got it for a decent price so I can't complain. I do have one gripe, and that is the unit gets overheated kinda quick. This will cause it to shut down until it has cooled down enough to re-start. If you have a decent amount to shred, this can get annoying. All in all, for the price, it works well for small offices or home shredding.

The Crosscut works well. The shreds are about 1 1/4 inches long and 1/8 inch wide. With that be mindful of how you input some documents as it may display more info on some of the shredded pieces than you would like. It shreds plastic cards with no issue. My drawback with this item is that you have to lift the lid to empty the bin and it generally holds pieces of paper in its blades so be prepared to pick up a few paper clippings here and there. I have not had any overheating issues. Overall, it's a good value for the money.

The machine is compact but easy to use. The pros include reasonable price, the ability to shredder in fine pieces. The cons include the noise and the small bucket. Overall, it is a good shredder for occasional uses.

I shred everything and this is my 2nd shredder of this kind in 10 years. I love it. If you are a shredder like me, then purchase this one for its great, size is perfect and it last a very long time. Great price also. Get this one and you will be very happy. Thank you its the Insignia NS-PS10CC

This is a light duty shredder with a reasonable price point (for cross cut shredder). The shredder's modest footprint is an especially attractive feature for my smallish home office. I use this shredder maybe once or twice a week (5-10 pages a session, 3-5 pages at a time; and for the occasional of expired plastic card) and have zero complaints with respect to speed, reliability or overheating. For light duty use, I would recommend this shredder without reservation. I don't know if this model makes sense beyond this level of usage. My hunch is that if you are mindful of the overheating issues as reported by other reviewers, it might be OK for occasional "medium-ish" duty usage.

Works great, jams up a little on the sides. (Make sure to turn off and unplug before clearing jammed paper!!) Will overheat after about an hour - or faster if you max out the pages. Suggest only putting half the max amount of papers through at a time. You'll have to do more passes, but it will take longer before it overheats. Recommend directing a fan near the motor to help keep it cool. Other than that, works as expected. Results in short straight shreds of paper instead of long strips or confetti.

Great shredder-works well and has good capacity. Definitely a good value. Easy to use. Doesn’t jam like our old one did.

Used it for the first time today. I was pretty pleasantly surprised by the power of the device. Seems a bit louder than I expected but that was ok. I fed it differing amounts of paper and it only seemed to strain with thicker paper and more than one thicker sheet at a time. It got warm after I shredded about two plastic bags worth of paper but it didn't stop working and it didn't give me any red lights showing it was overheating. It seems to be a good shredder for small or larger infrequent shred jobs. Just glad it does cross cut shredding at this price.

I purchased this little shredder for my mini home office to shred sensitive documents. It's compact enough to fit under my desk, and works perfectly, no overheating, no jams. Can't beat the price either. Fantastic!

Great little shredder. It can handle the 6 sheets but I prefer 4 or less. The cost was reasonable. It is easy to empty and doesn't take up much room.

I needed a shredder for my home office and this one fit the bill perfectly. Small and compact but powerful. There are only two small issues I have. One, it overheats quickly if shredding a large amount of papers and the waiting time i rather long for it to cool down. Two, When shredding, the shred will pile up under the blades. If pile gets too high it will get back into the blades and jam them. Have to shake the bin or open it to push the shredded remains down. Otherwise, it is a good buy for a small office.

I was a little skeptical of the Best Buy brand, but this is a serious little workhorse. I have put CDs, DVDs, credit cards, and multiple layers of varying thicknesses of paper into this machine and it has only jammed once in just over a month. The only criticism is that when you empty the shreddings bucket, you have to manually clean out the machine part of the unit with a pen or a stick. Otherwise, great machine at a great price.

Got this shredder a couple of months ago. Works great. It handles single or double sheets of paper. It will overheat if used with too many sheets, then have to wait 30 min before can use it again. I wound up just putting 4 or 5 sheets thru the machine, short pause before another batch of 5 sheets. This process worked well. The included basket is a bit small so you have to empty it frequently if you shred a lot of papers. Not a problems tho. All in all, price was good; well worth the money I spent on it.

I found this Insignia shredder at Best Buy and brought it home. It was one of the better prices of my shopping day. It works well but is very top heavy, so be careful when you are trying to move it. It makes a good amount of noise but shreds the paper and cards and other items rapidly and in the end isn't that what we wanted in the first place? I would not spend more money on a paper shredder because this performs just like the more expensive ones and was a reasonable price in my mind.

I love this shredder because it cross shreds, is compact and powerful, and can shred credit cards as well as paper. It hasn't overheated or jammed on me so far. It's easy to clean, too.

This shredder is a good value. I use it for all my household paper waste. I like that it cross shreds for personal information that I don't want thrown in the trash. It will take an unopened envelope of junk mail, as long as it doesn't have a plastic card in it...but it will cut that card separately. When I first got it, I shredded for a few hours and it did not overheat at all. I easily cleared any sticking paper. I save the paper shreds and reuse it in the chicken coop then to the compost.

Like the compact size. Works pretty good in 3-4 sheets. Also cuts credit cards. Great price. Works almost as good as my last one that cost $130!

My old paper shredder finally died after almost 20 years of service. So when it was time to replace it, I saw this particular shredder on sale at BestBuy. It is small in size, and works perfectly for my home office. I am able to shred all my sensitive documents without any worries. Just make sure not to try and put more than 5-6 sheets, as this is a light duty shredder. Other than that, it's a great product at an excellent price!

I had one of these before and it lasted me four years . Its a great shredder for the price just make sure you lubricate the cutters every once in a while which I didn't do till the end, If i did I probably would still have it, I put 5 papers but make sure you take out the staples, . I did put credit cards in but I wouldn't recommend, just to make it last longer, It shreds for a while but I think it dulls the blades,
