WORKS LIKE A CHAMP!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I WAS "gun shy" to buy another shredder as I had purchased one some years ago and it was so horrible I got rid of it; I thought all shredders were bad; then I found out you had to pay MORE to get something good, so I had to wait for a long time; so I had years of stuff to shred; this one took a beating for at least 2 hr.s straight b4 it needed a break; A sensor notified that it was over heated, so I turned it off ( I needed a break also : ). So I am pleased so far; it gobbled up several sheets with no problem. I haven't tried feeding credit cards to it yet. I've taken a week off of shredding so I'll try again soon. So I am liking it thus far.

well worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a crosscut shredder for many years, and it did a very good job. But I was always a little unsure of the surety of ID protection it provided. The Insignia brand is not one that I am familiar with, but being a BB customer for 25+ years, I took a chance. I cannot say how long term reliability will be , but so far I am happy with its performance. It easily handles multiple sheets of paper as well as unopened mail that I am not interested in. It is not as expensive as major names in shredding, but does the job. So far, I think it is well worth the money.

did what it said it would
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.only reason I didn't give it "excellent" was it does overheat and shutdown but can go @ 45 minutes before that happens. I think they all do that if you are doing big projects.. very small cut ...that was nice surprise and window to see level in the bin

Skeptical but now a believer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very skeptical about the quality of this shredder but I was "desperate" and it was the lowest price locally for the size so I took a chance. After weeks of use it's won me over. It micro shreds which is usually only found in more expensive models so it holds even more than my previous strip shredder even though it's the same size. It also has a separate slot for CDs and credit cards. Best of all I've yet to experience a jam. On the con side, it is slow and louder than I'd like. I also wish the mouth was large enough to accept a business size envelope but you can't expect all the bells and whistles in a $80 shredder.

Great value for the price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared many shredders before purchasing Insignia 10 sheet. After careful consideration for the value you cannot beat this shredder for the price. Security shredding, quite and easy unload basket makes this shredder a 5 star!

Extreme security
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This shredder is fantastic - handles ten sheets at a time, credit cards, CD’s - and turns them almost to powder. Remember on X-Files when Mulder taped the strips together to reassemble the document? Sorry, Fox, no can do with this shredder. It also has a nice big bin so you’re not always having to empty it. You can’t line the bin (I don’t know why, but it says not to), but it’s easy to empty the fluff into a clear bag for recycling. I just put the bag over it, then turn everything upside down. Piece of cake. Bin pulls completely out and has a nice big window so you can see the level. My old one had a little tiny ribbon of a window which was useless, and it choked to death on a CD. Won’t happen with this one!

Total Security
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Crosscut shreds into small enough pieces that no information can be discerned from remnants. As for the noise I've read in other reviews this machine is a lot quieter than the one it replaces so noise is relative.

A wonderful shredder
||Posted . Good product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this shredder about three times a week to get rid of junk mail. It does the job however, don't put more than four sheets max through it at one time, unless you're shredding rice paper which is a really thin, lightweight paper. It does shred CDs or DVDs with no problem. I have mistakenly put small pieces of paper into the CD slot and it shreds them but they are not microcut as they would be using the regular paper shredding slot. I did have an instance where I turned the shredder on but it did not shred and it seemed to have no power as the light didn't come on. So after having checked my breaker box, and finding no problem there, I unplugged it waited 10 minutes and plugged it back in to the outlet and it works just fine. Overall I feel it was a good purchase.

completely satisfied
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very satisfied with the unit. I don't have to take it apart to see if it needs emptying or to empty it. Very, very small cuts of what ever I put in it. Very quite running considering what it does. I can only say thank you.

Awesome Shredder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous shredder, which lasted me 10+ years, was the same brand and was the best shredder I’ve ever owned. This one is no exception. VERY happy with my purchase. Can’t beat the price, especially when it goes on sale.

Must have in the office.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well worth the money! The micro clippings are easy to deal with and you are not dumping the bin every day. The motor purrs, almost no noise at all.

Great shredder!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my new Insignia shredder. I can barely hear the motor running when it’s in use. It shreds paper very fine, just as advertised. I will recommend this product to others.

Small, quiet, and convenient
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This shredder is perfect for small demands of home use. It is small and quiet, but does an excellent job of cutting. The pull-out bin is much easier to handle than shredders requiring you to lift off the motor to empty. Also, it has casters that make it easy to move. It quotes a maximum of ten sheets at a time, so it is not efficient for heavy-duty shredding of piles of paper, but for light home use it seems quite good.

Insignia Microcut shredder
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the shredder to have for security. It shreds to very tiny pieces and so far has been very reliable. It's also easy to empty. Also shred credit cards and such.

works as expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as expected, but when shredding, it's a somewhat louder than I expected. I would not try to shred 10 sheets, it can balk. If it does jam, it has a reverse switch that works pretty well. It can get overheated and does shut itself off. It easily handles 5 to 7 sheets at a time. Don't let the collection bin overfill, it spills all over the inside of the collection area, but otherwise it is neat and efficient. If you want a shredder to handle casual office work, it works well. I am satisfied with this purchase.
