I've not had any issues with using this to charge my phone, but if you have a thicker phone case (like my wife does) it may not charge. This was the first Qi charge I have used, and I don't have any references for comparison, but I am overall happy with this product. I bought them on sale, for under $10, so it seemed like a great value at the time
