I want to love this convertible freezer/frig because it's almost perfect in every way, but I can not. I took delivery of it last Monday, and after 24 hours, I still could not get the refrigerator temperature lower than 40 degrees with the refrigerator setting at 35 degrees. And this is in a cold garage!! I called Insignia support, and they set up a return and replacement. The new appliance arrived on Friday, and this one is exactly the same. The fridge is set to 35 degrees, and the internal temperature (measured with THREE thermometers) hovers between 39 and 40 degrees. Best Buy has been excellent to deal with, and I so much wanted this to work. The local appliance person at the store suggested I return this second one and try a third unit, but I'm concerned the thermostats are faulty. I can't even imagine how it would be in a hot garage this summer. I just don't trust it. The refrigerator is sparsely loaded as well. My expectation is that if I set it at 35 degrees, I should get an internal temperature of close to that.

I purchased this freezer on July 27, 2024. It is now July 17 of 2025. This freezer did not even make it a year. I also bought the coverage I called in and they said they could not help me I would need to bring the freezer back to Best Buy. It's very heavy. This is worthless don't waste your time. The total of the freezer was $604.38 ridiculous waste of money.

This Insignia Freezer/Refrigerator never was able to perform as a freezer. We lost $917.00 / 292.5 pounds of meat because this unit would not cool below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. We returned the unit and received a replacement white unit instead of the stainless steel due to availability. We filed a spoilage claim that has been denied.
The replacement unit functions well so far but Best Buy has not/will not compensate us for the spoiled meat.

I'm not a freezer expert, but I don't think this looks right. See the attached picture. I wiped off the frost as well as the upper door seal, and it happened again. There was also some minor damage to the bottom of the door. Your delivery guy took a picture of the door when it was installed last week. The door is minor, compared to the frost build up. What can we do about it?

Fridge function doesn't work

The fridge function does not get cold enough to keep food from spoiling. It's set as cold as the fridge will go (35F) but its actual temp is well above 40F which is out of the food-safe range. I have it inside in a temp controlled space with plenty of ventilation. I plugged it in for 48 hours and it never got below 40F.

It didn't last more than a year and a few months and we found everything melted. The power is on and the freezer display is still showing 4°F which really cheated us as we thought the freezer is still working and everything is fine.
This is crap design.

I Purchase a insignia freezer/ Refrigerator and was disappointed in it. The next few days there was frost and ice buildup all over. Now it’s getting worse by the day with more ice buildup on the frozen food and ice tray. I am returning it and hopefully will get one that works the way it should.... Frost free!!

Delivered with broken shelf (plastic arount shelf broken, plastic is part of structure that holds shelf on sides of freezer. did not notice until after delivery men left. Chatted with Best Buy, and all they could offer was a discount, or a return. Called insignia, shelf is not an item that they sell.
