The two men that set up the fridge had missing pieces and they took pictures of it and they told me that Best Buy would come back out and fix it but that is a lie. SHOP ELSEWHERE.

We unboxed the freezer to install and found that it was damaged.

I love this product. When I bought it, I read reviews that made me rethink the purchase. Someone said that a power outage would cause it to lose the freezer or refrigerator lock settings. I have had so many power outages and I’ve never had a problem with it switching. I also changed the settings from freezer to fridge and fridge to freezer to check to see if it would lose the setting and it did not (I caused my breaker to trip to check it). It cools properly and is spacious enough for my needs. I have been using it as a fridge since the time of purchase. My door handle does get a bit loose after extended usage, but it’s an easy fix. I just tighten it and it’s good. At one point, I did have to clean water from the back of the fridge that leaked. It does tend to get hot on the side, but I was told that was normal. It gets hot, but cools down without creating problems. I haven’t had any other issues.

I've been using the Insignia 13.8 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Convertible Upright Freezer for a while now, and honestly it’s been great for our household! As someone who's always looking for a bit more storage, this freezer hit all the right notes. First off, the "convertible" part is just brilliant, having the option to switch it to a refrigerator if our needs change is such a smart feature, though I've been using it exclusively as a freezer and it's been performing like a champ, getting things frozen solid really quickly. Setting it up was a breeze, which is always a plus in my book, nobody wants to spend hours figuring things out lol. It’s surprisingly spacious inside too, I was able to organize everything with room to spare, thanks to the shelves and the door storage, which is super handy for those smaller items that usually get lost in the abyss of a chest freezer. I’m loving the upright design because I can actually see and reach everything without having to dig around, a total back saver at my age compared to my old chest freezer! It's also way quieter than I expected, it just hums along silently in the garage, which is fantastic. The temperature control is straightforward and seems to keep everything perfectly frozen, and I really like the peace of mind knowing it’s garage ready, so it’s built to handle the temperature fluctuations out there. The door seal is really strong, you can tell it's keeping all that cold air locked in, and there's even an alarm if you accidentally leave the door open, which is a lifesaver. Honestly, it’s just a solid, well thought out appliance that does exactly what it promises, and does it well at a decent price.

I’m really happy with my new Insignia™ 13.8 cu ft Garage Ready Convertible Freezer. It’s been awesome so far. It cools super fast, keeps everything frozen solid, and handles the temperature changes in my garage without any issues. The stainless steel looks great, and the freezer feels sturdy and well-built. There’s tons of space inside, and the shelves make it easy to keep things organized instead of piling everything on top of each other like my old freezer. One of my favorite things is that it’s ENERGY STAR certified — I’ve definitely noticed it’s not using a ton of electricity. And the fact that I can switch it from freezer to fridge if I ever need to is a huge bonus. It also runs really quietly, which I appreciate since it’s not far from the door to my house. Overall, this freezer has been perfect for extra storage. Super happy with the purchase!

Needed an upgrade for my deep freezer. This takes less space and open more space in thr freezer portion on my fridge.

I wasn’t sure about the quality of the Insignia brand, but reviews were very positive. After having it for a month now, I understand why!! This has been perfect since day 1. Absolutely no issues. Best Buy delivered it and placed it right where I wanted it in the garage. They plugged it in and it has just worked since. The freezer got to 0° very quickly and has maintained that temp. I can set that up or down if I choose but everything is solid at zero. A cool attribute of this freezer is that you can change it to a refrigerator if you need that instead. For me, this is a great smaller size unit yet still big enough to pack in a bunch of Costco ice cream, steaks, pizzas, etc. I love it and would highly recommend it!

I have only had the unit for a few weeks but so far so good. It had good reviews and all I needed was a basic fridge for the garage. Didnt know you needed a special garage duty until my wife mention it ,go figure. Online order went well, delivery was very good and on time. I have purchased 85 & 75 inch HD sets and high end Marantz AV in the past with Geek squad few years ago and all went great. Jeff

The freezer got to freezing in a hot garage here in Texas in just a couple hours. So far it looks awesome and does its job freezing even with very little in there. Getting a little over a 1/4 calf to store in there soon, hopefully plenty of room. Will have to see and come back if longevity is an issue. Delivery team also did a great job, swift, careful, and knowledgeable. Side note this freezer is quieter than my fridge in the house so not sure where the complaints of it being loud are coming from. If it’s loud, there’s likely a problem.

Our freezer is perfect for us. It is easy to set up and load. It keeps perfect temperature. It can be switched to Refrigerator instead if we prefer. It has a lock on the control which is on the outside of the door. It is quiet and uses very little electricity. Delivery was fast and very efficient

Nice size. Holds more than you think it would. Love that it can be a refrigerator OR a freezer. Great color and easy to keep clean stainless door. Salesman was very helpful. Convenient delivery and easy set up.

Bought this 4 years ago and not one problem. First I used it for produce and my vegetables loved it. I think it operated as one big vegetable controlled humidity drawer. Then I switched it to freezing because the cost of food went up and I could preserve with freezing, buying in bulk. It’s a dream for people who freeze homemade broths, precooked vegetables and such. There’s so much room that I didn’t even organize last time I had a huge meat delivery but I can still find what I need in my unorganized life.

I've owned several brands and types of freezers so please take note that this review is from someone that has had previous experiences that warrants an honest review of this product. The first and most important thing about this freezer is the seal. Believe it or not but most "standard" freezers don't have a commercial seal. When I say commercial seal I mean the type that you have to nearly jerk the handle off b/c it has such a tight seal and one that will stand up to "commercial" type use. Though I don't have to open my freezer often I know the seal will handle constant use. I can close and open this for 10 minutes straight and each time I have to jerk the door with some strength to get it open. Without a good seal a freezer is pointless. The features are great being able to be used as a fridge or a freezer. Everyone could use an extra fridge so even if your lifestyle changes and you no longer need a freezer it will get used as a fridge. This is one of the larges I have owned and I am very pleased with the size. I have baskets on shelves organizing my frozen items. Though I could pack more in not using them but I'm an organizational freak and having enough room allowing me to sort with baskets makes me super happy. I have this in a very small laundry room and I'm surprised it doesn't produce a lot of heat. I fully expected the room to be hot after running my washer and dryer and this being in there, however I didn't notice any difference than it was prior to putting the freezer in the room. I'm glad I went ahead and spent the extra money for a higher quality freezer.

I am so happy with this upright freezer. It will be much more convenient than the chest freezer that I have had, since my food inventory will be much more visible and easier to keep track of and I won't have to stand on my head anymore to get something out of the bottom of the freezer. The real bonus is that this freezer can convert to a refrigerator for seasonal refrigerator overflow! I will keep my old chest freezer for a backup for this reason. It is self defrosting, so no more hooking a hose to it to drain the water out of the bottom. It is an Energy Star appliance which means I can get a rebate from my utility company. All of this plus the great price made this purchase a win win purchase!

We originally purchased the 17 cu ft model.. and loved it so much we purchased the 21 as well. Unfortunately, the 21 came with glass shelves that just don’t seem to hold as much as the wire shelves that are in the 17. We only had this one just over a month and the bottom shelf spontaneously shattered. Not sure if it’s a fluke deal, or not? But the other shelves look concerning as far as bowing .. I would not be the least bit surprised if they all end up breaking. I can’t seem to find anything on what the shelf load is? Maybe we have too much weight on them? Regardless.. Its a bit frustrating. at least the insignia customer service pulled through and sent me a new shelf (Although, they claimed they shouldn’t because it was out of their 30 day warranty.. by a few days) I had to spend an hour and a half on the phone with them, but should be receiving my new shelf tomorrow. Wish there was an option to choose wire shelves.. that would have made this a 5 star purchase like our last one. Added a picture of the wire shelves in our other model as well for comparison.. we much prefer that model.
