Great frost free upright freezer

Replaced a 20 year old Kenmore upright freezer that wasn't frost free. It was 12 Cubic feet. Bright Interior light and glass shelves are a huge improvement over our older freezer and larger in capacity. The only issue is that the plastic handle broke the 1st day of use once the freezer developed a sealed pressure from the cold. Emailed Insignia and they responded quickly, but didn't have the part. I made my own from a stainless steel handle I had from our kitchen remodel. All good now.

My only complaint is that the wheels do not lock the freezer in place and the entire freezer slides out over our wood floor every time I open the door (good seal on the door though). Best Buy sent people out to look at it and they said they could not fix this issue

I've got two chest freezers and have been wanting an upright. I bought a whole cow that was processed and the upright freezer works great. I'm able to keep everything separated with it having shelves.

It is a good size and holds more food than we expected. I love the shelves and interior light and like that it can be converted to a refrigerator. Nice dependable unit.

Has nice shelving in the door so for its size it holds a good amount of frozen items.

Garage Upgrade

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was originally planning to purchase the 17 or 21 cubic feet option but saw the 13.8 cubic feet fridge inside the store and was impressed with the size and space on the inside. It was larger than I thought and the online photos doesn't do it justice. It was a quick delivery and set up. It isn't heavy and I'm able to maneuver it around my garage with ease. I use the quick freeze set up option and within 20 minutes to half an hour the fridge/freezer combo was cold. I'm using it as a freezer but it can be used as a fridge also. I plan to purchase another as it doesn't take up much space and it's aesthically pleasing and not outdated in appearance.

Don't just swing the door shut like most refrigerators, it may bounce back open and you won't realize it for a little while until it starts chiming at you
