I put the batteries in, added the garbage bag, and it’s been great ever since. I love the automatic open and close. Great purchase so far.

Slick auto opening lid

Now I don’t have to worry about handling meat and opening the garbage. Minor but very annoying. I also like that there is a little insert that holds the garbage bag in the bin nice and secure. It doesn’t come with the D batteries so order those at the same time.

I like this trash can

It works great and it looks great and my kitchen and it keeps. The smells from the garbage in the can surprisingly well highly recommended

The perfect size and I love the handsfree functionality. My kitchen sized trash bags fit perfectly and it comes with a removable rim that securely fastens the sides so no slippage and no mess from unsecured bags. This feature also gives a clean look. This met my requirements, and is the perfect size. The automatic lid works perfectly, and the color blends very well with our kitchen. Insignia products have always been a nice combination of price/performance, and this is no exception.

The automatic lid open/close function works fine most of the times. Occasionally the sensor doesn't detect any movement and does not open the lid. Using the open-close button resets it and auto function works fine afterwards. Pretty happy with it. Would recommend.
