With the little grandbabies coming around this is great and they love how the lid opens by it self as well even tho they think it's a toy. This was one of my best purchases because now the lid doesn't have to have a million hands all over it. If you have ever tested a germs theory try it put everyone's hands in your home in different colors of glitter and through the whole day see everything that has been touched by everyone when you see the glitter tracks everywhere you would be amazed....so this helps down the germs with less hands on it....thank you thank you thank you....

However if you don’t used good brand batteries it doesn’t open up to the fully. I have to buy two batteries for 12 dollar to make it work again.

I bought black trash bags and they blend in with the top perfectly. It’s so nice not to have to touch the trash can to open the lid (especially when you’re cooking). Would recommend!!

I’ve had it for about a year, and it still works great. I have not had to replace the batteries yet (single-person household). Tip: buy black trash bags so they blend with the lid.
