Couple weeks later stopped opening and closing but would sound like it’s trying. Replaced battery. Nothing. I do love it if it Jist worked. Covered under warranty went to store and ordered a replacement. Fingers crossed the next one has no issues or any manufacturer defects

Defective lid breaks past warranty

Like others have said after 1 year the lid only partially opens and new batteries will not fix it. Now expecting it to fail completely. I have another brand of trash can with sensor opening lid that is 6 years old that the lid still works on so will be replacing the Best Buy one.

Only downfall for me is I have a 130 lb Cane Corso that figured ojt that all he has to do is put his snout to the sensor. No fault to the device, it works fantastic.

It is a decent trash can. Feels a little cheap but it gets the job done and my wife loves it.

I bought Duracell long-lasting batteries. A day after putting the batteries in, it acts like they are weak. I tried new batteries, still acts the same way. Lid barely opens high enough to stick my hand in much less trash. Very disappointed in this purchase and mad at myself for not getting batteries in it soon enough to be able to return it.

Posted .Please make sure in the bearing part of the lid, there is no garbage stuck to it. If not works as well, please try to reset the lid.

Bought two, one for trash and one for recycle. Easy to use and trash bags fit well and don’t get the big air bubble in them. A bit pricy but they usually go on sale.

Works great, doesn’t kill the batteries, only annoyance (I live in a studio so it’s more of a space issue than product,) nearly every time I walk past them in the hall the trash can opens.
