Broke within 6 months

Tried replacing the batteries but it didn't help at all. Tried calling Insignia support and all they told me was to put it in a box and take it to Best Buy and wait for it to be fixed. How do I find a box that's big enough for this trash can? How can I live without having a trash can in my home? To sum up, the experience was bad and I would never purchase something made by Insignia again.

A sensor is little too sensitive, cant walk past it without it opening but it works great. Great buy on deal of the day.
