Bestbuy support has been unhelpful to say the least, not offering any option to get that part sent or to exchange, just refund. Aside from that though, the product functions well. We'll see how long it lasts. I purchased it at half off and would consider it well-worth that price.

The one I got does not open with motion most of the time. I feel ridiculous standing there waving my had full of trash, hoping the lid will pop up. Sometimes rubbing my finger directly on. The sensor works, sometimes I have to press the power button to make it work. This morning when I got up, the lid had opened on its own sometime during the night and was fully open. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a lidded can. I just got it yesterday, I’m returning it today.

Do not wave your hand or rubbish above the sensor. The right gesture is placing your hand over the sensor for 1 second, then the lid will open. The sensor is located between the indicator light and the Open/Close button.
