    This is not a good product. I’ve had it one month and it doesn’t work. I bought 2 new D batteries and nothing. If I can figure out a way to return it I will. I have no box or receipt but it’s a piece of junk.

    Ordered one and it stopped working, got a replacement and second one stopped working too in 2 months now i am out of one year warranty

    The sensor that opens the lid is so bad .....you basically have to touch it for it to work which defeats the purpose of the trash can ......the stainless steel looks nice but for retail price if $75 I would say to pass on this .

      Hello,

      Do not wave your hand or rubbish above the sensor. The right gesture is placing your hand over the sensor for 1 second, then the lid will open. The sensor is located between the indicator light and the Open/Close button. BBY-ExBrand_Insignia

    I purchased 2 of these for my house. This product falls apart too easily. The lid's mechanism works using a little strip of plastic, both of my lids broken within 3 months.

    Wont buy again..

    It was working fine for couple of months. Very sensitive to motion so kept opening even you walk by it. Stopped working all of sudden, tried to change batteries but no luck. Actually, batteries lasted longer than this product!!

    Less than a year old and the lid motor doesn’t work anymore , called Best Buy for warranty repair and was told they can’t do anything and to calm Insignia- ( you know the “Best Buy” brand )

    I have had this trash can for less than a year and the sensor no longer works. I've changed the batteries (though they shoudn't be dead) and ensured the lid was on correctly, and it is no good.

    Stopped working right after purchase. I live 4500 miles away from the home I purchased it for or I’d have taken it back. Now it’s only usefulness is for a garage nappy can.

    Lasted around a year and a half and the top won’t open now. Something internally broke and it only lifts about an inch.

    Ordered for store pick up. Got to the store after receiving the text ready for pick up. I asked the associate to open it up before I took it. Glad I did, trash can had a dent on it. Requested refund! Looks like they tossed the box around!

    The lid doesnt fully open when you want your hand over it. So i still have to open and close it. Wouldn’t recommend even on sale

    After a little over 3 months, the piece that holds the springs on the inside of the can came apart and it no longer works. Best Buy will not accept the return, so have to go through the manufacturer.
