Seriously… I was tired of the smell from our open system. I wanted a close lid trashcan. In a wheelchair, I needed something with the auto open lid. This fit our needs. Only one downside. Ours is stored underneath a countertop and the close proximity of the location will cause the lid to stay open. Had to pull it out just a bit to make the lid close. Not a deal breaker but might be worth mentioning to someone reading this. Enjoy!

Note: The firmware has a "feature" that will make it seem like the unit has failed after a period of time that is roughly similar to the warranty period. Don't despair, simply clean the lid reasonably well (do not submerge) and remove the batteries for an extended period to reset the electronics.

Very stylish and helps keep orders to a minimum. The automatic opening is convenient when needing to discard something and your hands are full.

It feels like something from the Jetsons. Makes a quiet whirring noise when it opens and shuts, and you don’t have to touch it. Great when your hands are covered with whatever you’re cooking at the moment. Even better deal cause I got it on sale!

I'm not sure what the life expectancy is for this type of product but ours worked about 2 years. We are still able to push the button and open it but the automatic sensor no longer works. So don't buy the extended warranty as it seems to work fine for the first few years.

Just thought I was ordering a nice stainless steel garbage can. I have been extremely happy since I have started using it. Have only used it a little over a week but this has been so nice…always needed another hand when I opened my can and emptied plates, etc…the automatic lid takes care of that need. Great can!
