I had bought a super cheap 4-port car charger from Walmart and it would charge my phone pretty slowly (~10% in a half-hour drive). It eventually broke, but it was really cheap, so I'm not surprised. Even though this one is only 2 ports, it charges my phone around 1% per minute (or even faster), so even in a half-hour drive in the afternoon/evening (my phone's charging times are kind of random), I'd jump from 30 to 60% for the rest of the day. Super impressed with its speed, so it was worth the money for me.
