Poor sound quality via 3.5mm jack

Sound was very flat and unpleasant. Was going to buy a digital audio cable, but having to mute the TV and turn on the sound bar with a 2nd remote proved too annoying and not worth the effort (to me). My TV volume doesn't go super loud, so my goal was to be able to get louder. It was able to go louder than my TV, but the sound quality wasn't there.

Not the greatest for sound

I bought them to make the sound clearer for an elderly friend who had the TV on a TV stand instead of hanging it on the wall. She found it very difficult to hear the sound of the TV on the stand so the speakers helped immensely.
