    Worth the money.

The picture quality that our new Sony displays is just incredible, however the sound is so disappointing. I purchased this small inexpensive sound bar not really expecting very much. I was amazed on how great it performs. The hookup was easy and took no more then a few minutes. I used the digital optical cable port on the back of the unit. I had a Best Buy ten dollar off gift so the unit ended up costing under 30 dollars. The digital optical cable is not included. The cost was under 8 dollars so all in all, not much money invested.. I found this to be a perfect size for my living room. I don’t think it’s realistic to expect earth shattering sound but for watching the Sox, what a difference. We love it!

Really Nice Features For The Price

For the price point, if you just need a decent little speaker to replace some horrible ones or you have a small TV where the volume doesn't really help the picture, get this thing. The sound isn't going to blow your mind, but especially with the digital optics cable it has clear and clean sound with small but decent ranges in the mids highs and lows. With a handy remote, and the fact that this thing is Bluetooth as well makes for a great little soundbar. Well constructed and halfway decent cables as well come with it and I was pleasantly surprised.

    Amazing little mighty mite

I sure didnt expect much from this tiny lightweight sound bar but it improved the sound on my admittedly low end TV immensely. It is attached to a bottom of the line 32 inch Insignia TV that didnt cost much more than this sound bar on sale. So its built in speakers were pretty awful. Hence this soundbar had a very low bar to breech. But it did, at least with an optical connection (RCA jacks and bluetooth also supported, along with aux from the TV to RCA on the soundbar... cables included.) You have to provide your own optical cable, which is necessary for the best sound., I noticed an immediate improvement in overall frequency response, with added low end and high end. (your mileage may vary depending on the TV it is attached to) It comes on all by itself when the TV does and the TV volume control works with the soundbar. So a painless installation Soundbar remote is not needed. Unless you want to change inputs or adjust the equalizer (three presets offered). (Don't forget to set TV output to PCM if you are using optical. It won't work otherwise) I noticed that getting improved low end frequencies depends a lot on where the sound bar is placed. On flat table top, it gives improved low end. Hanging on the wall under the TV, not so much. Even on sale, this thing is pretty pricey, given how tiny it is. But it does the job for me. And also can serve as a bluetooth speaker for your phone or similar portable device. And is bound to sound better than phone or tablet speakers.

Surprisingly good sound for such a tiny soundbar!

I should start out by saying we are NOT audiophiles... in other words we're not too fussy about sound quality, long as we can hear what's coming out of the TV and it sounds reasonably good... which is definitely the case here.. what's really surprising is that our living room is, like most living rooms, the biggest room in the house and the sound still fills it quite nicely despite us sitting on the couch relatively far from the TV.. which is unexpected given how tiny this soundbar is ! We are using an optical cable for sound so I can't say what the sound would be like if you were using the RCA cables that come with it... this was an open box purchase too which makes it another pleasant surprise :) ... got it on sale during the black friday/cyber monday/xmas sale time period... so I'd recommend looking to purchase it during that time (i.e. I'm very happy with the purchase given the money I paid for it but I'm not sure I'd want to pay the "normal" full retail price which I think is a bit on the high side).

We have bought several Insignia tv's over the years so we bought this for a bedroom tv and for a bluetooth hook up to an iphone. You can't beat the price and quality for the price of any of the Insignia products we have purchased. We paid 40.00 for it and it works and sounds just fine. I must say though, if I hadn't already seen it online I never would have even known it existed because of the way they displayed it.

needed something for my TV that was not expensive. I have a Sony 32 inch led in my bedroom and this sound bar works better then the TV sound but the volume can only go so high, which is fine for a bedroom. I hooked this up to a Samsung 32 inch and it rocked, way better sound and a lot louder. First we tried the RCA cables and the volume was better, then we tried optical and much better sound the only down fall with optical is that you can't control the volume with the TV remote, you need to use the sound bar remote. We would get another for our Samsung but don't want to use two remotes for one TV.

For the price, a good little speaker

In trying to make this work with my new, cheap Samsung TV, my only option for feeding the audio from the TV was via Optical Audio (the only sound output on the TV) which produced audio drop outs. However, this speaker has RCA inputs so after some brainstorming, it occurred to me to run the audio right from my DISH box to the speaker via RCA cable and NOT through the TV via Optical Audio. The result is no audio drop outs. I run an HDMI cable from the DISH box to the TV for video and then turn the sound off on the TV itself. I don't know if it's the TV or the Optical Audio cable that was causing the audio drop outs but they way I'm doing it solved that problem. The sound is much better through this speaker than the internal TV speakers. It's a good, cheap solution for those of us who are not audiophiles but want better sound than what you get out of the tin cans they call TV speakers. My DISH remote won't control the volume on the Insignia speaker so I need the Insignia remote for sound but for the sale price and what I get for it, problem solved!

Got this little guy due to space restrictions. Fits nicely on shelf in bedroom. GREAT improvement over TV speakers. Easy hookup. Not for your main home theatre, but good enough for sets elsewhere in your house.

Great soundbar for the price, out performs the factory speakers in tv, nice and loud, small compared to the other expensive big sound bars. Only downside it doesn't come with the optical cord like it says does on here so bestbuy fix the description details, other than that no biggie 12 to 15 bucks at walmart depending on the length you need.

Great solution for a small TV!

I have the Insignia 19" TV and I'm very happy with it, but the sound is not great. I've been trying various computer speakers that I have in storage but either the sound is poor or they block the screen (the TV is on a small table in my kitchen so I have limited space). I saw this as I was walking through my local Best Buy and figured I'd try it out! Sound is quite good, and the unit fits in front of the TV. The syncing with the TV volume control is a bit odd, it detects when you turn the volume up and down and adjusts it's own volume but it can quickly become "off", so that 50 on the TV is loudest, but then soon it's 30, or 70... It works fine if you just ignore the volume level on the TV and set it by ear. Overall I'm happy with this product and would recommend it for a small TV in a small to mid-size room.

    Excellent bedroom sound

I purchased this soundbar for my 42" Insignia TV that is in my bedroom as the regular speakers seemed far away like the characters of any movie or show were talking into a container. What a great choice! I saw in-store and thought maybe it would be open box online and yes it was. Now I have to turn down the volume because its like being in a movie theater. Great sound, Compact package. Im going to purchase another! And get the optical cable (also open box) to save even more money :-)

This fits perfect under my monitor. The sound is perfect for gaming and movies. Very loud. Havent tried this on a TV yet however the sound is great for a PC. This speaker helps reduce clutter and unnecessary wires. I use my headset most of the time but when I play story mode or any campaigns I use this. Highly recommended and right now for $40 it's a great deal.

I'm using this as a computer speaker. It rests nicely on the monitor base, sounds good, and doesn't take up extra space on my desktop. The Bluetooth is a nice bonus.

    Nice minor upgrade

My tv is in a cabinet and I had no room for a full sound bar. All I wanted was a minor upgrade to the tv speakers and this was perfect. Sits in front of the tv (in its original stand) without blocking the picture. I plugged it into xfinity x1 and can control it with xfinity remote. Won't be booming sound, but I didn't want that for this room.

I wanted an inexpensive sound bar to pair with an inexpensive, small tv in the bedroom and after a bit of research this one stood out as a good match. I like the small size since it sits in front of a 24 inch tv and the sound is a huge improvement over the awful sound quality of the tv!
