    Great little speaker

was a little skeptical at first because of the price and size of the soundbar. but don't let this fool you. for a really small and compact speaker it offers great sound quality. got this to go along with a cheap bedroom tv and its a major upgrade to almost any tv speakers. plugged it in, (use the optical input for the best sound), programmed it to my spectrum tv remote and was on my way. so if your not looking for a huge upgrade, for a decent price. this would be a great way to go.

We first purchased this sound bar when we got our new TV a few years ago. When we moved and needed another, I was so happy they still had it in stock! The sound is quality, the setup is a breeze, and I love that it has multiple connection options.

Very Clear Voices and Music is No Longer Too Loud

I have a Sony 2.1 soundbar setup that I paid more than 4 times the price of this little Insignia one. My Sony would blare the TV music at uncomfortable levels and I had trouble hearing voices. The mids on this Insignia speaker are much clearer and more pronounced. Voices come in much clearer now. When music starts playing during a show, it no longer overpowers everything else and doesn't get uncomfortably loud. I could not be happier with this and I can't believe it only cost 40 bucks. Bass is surprisingly acceptable, just don't expect sub woofer quality. This little speaker has no business sounding as good as it does, but I really like it a lot. Got the GF one and had to get one for myself after hearing it in action.

Wow. Am very surprised, in all the right ways.

I have owned many soundbars, including high end ones. I bought this just to use with a TV in my office. Expected nothing more than a basic speaker with a remote to control volume. Boy, was I surprised. The sound with TV is fine. Gave me what I wanted. But with music, it blows me away. Put it in Standard mode and connected from phone by Bluetooth, music sounds very good and sound stage is wide and deep. For such a small speaker, don't know how they achieve this result. But highly recommend. It isn't going to replace a high end soundbar, but it easily keeps up with and in some music respects exceeds larger soundbars up to the $200 range. I got this on sale for $39. Don't hesitate.

I bought this sound bar and I love it. It is easy to hook up and I am going to buy the Digital optical cable to go with it. It sounds good without it, but I heard it will sound better with it.

We purchased this mini sound bar for our bedroom TV. Sadly we had to return it not long after because it just didn't meet our needs. The main problem being that it wasn't pairing well with our Insignia TV, a main reason we bought it. It would randomly turn off when we still had the TV on and just didn't really have any more punch than the TV had. Not that we thought it would be a boom box, it's clear sound, there's just little to no bass. I simply couldn't tell if I was still listening to the sound bar, or if it had turned off and we were listening to the TV, so I just didn't see a need for it. If you're using this as a replacement for hard to hear, bad quality, or absence of speakers, then I'd say it's a nice cheap buy. We went for the next model up and it's been a much better option.

    Very good for computer

Works well as a speaker for a PC. We put it under our monitor, and it functions MUCH better than the speakers on the monitor, and even better than some of the cheap stereo computer speakers we had. Stereo seperation is not great, but it is very clear and even has a little bit of bass.

Our cable company installed cable boxes on all our TVs (7). On the smaller TVs, it cut back the volume on some channels. So I bought this device. My TV only had optical audio out so I had to use a toslink cable. I had problems making the ends stay in the soundbar and TV and the volume was not very loud. Did some research on the Internet, and the problem was the toslink cable comes with teeny tiny caps on the ends that need to be removed. Once I removed the caps, the cables stayed plugged in and the volume was greatly amplified.

Purchased this soundbar for a 50 inch tv. The sound quality on the tv now is good before the sound was low volume. First time that i have ever purchase a sound bar and i am quiet satisfied with the purchase. The set up was very easy.

This is a great speaker, but mine didn't come with an optical cable. So I bought one and I cant get it to connect to the tv, even with the other cords. but works with Bluetooth with no problem.

    Compact, but not very loud

Calling this a soundbar is misleading. At best, these are decent PC speakers. Watching most movies and TV shows with the volume at the maximum level results in sound that isn't much louder than standard TV speakers. They sound a lot better than most TV speakers, but do not expect a lot in terms of volume. The larger soundbar is muuuuch better than the mini. If you have room for the larger sound bar, definitely get it over this one.

This mini soundbar is not bad, but there are definitely better options. It will sound better than most modern TV speakers just because it faces forward, but don't expect much more. There is no equalizer and little differential between the highs and lows, it all sounds kind of muddy. Minimal bass in a TV show caused this little speaker to chirp and move around on the table. The preset sound options are all horrible, with "standard" sounding the best. The remote feels cheap and it doesn't come with a optical cable. I managed to teach my Dish remote to turn it on and adjust the volume. For $30 or so it's fine for a small room or just to direct the TV sound forward. If you have limited space or budget then this may be a good choice, otherwise I suggest spending a bit more and getting a larger more powerful soundbar.

Connected to a Sharp 32" TV. It's better than the 32' TV's speaker, but not by much. We have the TV mounted on a wall in the kitchen. Smaller kitchen, and the speakers on the TV are downward facing. TV speakers not so good when you're sitting at the table. Actually too loud when at the table but not loud enough in the kitchen. The soundbar does make it able to hear in the kitchen, but not by much. I got Open Box discount, so I'm okay. I would take it back if I paid full price.

I am amazed by how good this unit is! It doesn't have subwoofers but the tone quality is outstanding; the bass is very good and rich. It really enhances the TV audio and gives it a home-theater quality. I'm very glad I bought it and I really like the price!
