I currently have a Samsung UHD TV and I having to turn the volume up into the 70's or max. I also have a high end 7.2 reciever I would turn on to hear the T.V., I do not have a hearing problem but I thought a sound bar would help and at the same time I did want to spend a lot of $$. After reading the reviews on this mini sound bar I decided to purchase. This mini sound bar delivers and would recommend for those just needing to hear what is being said without spending a lot. 5 stars for this mini insignia sound bar

Honestly it's a good average soundbar. It's not a high end ridiculous sounding soundbar. It does the job I need it too. One thing I'd say, is like most have stated, it shouldn't be used in big rooms. It's more for smaller rooms. Like your bedroom camper or whatever.

If all you just need a bit more volume this is ok, but it is only slightly better than the 5 watt speakers built into our new TV. Unfortunately larger, more powerful sound bars were too big (and much to expensive) for the space we have.

Good Sound For Size, Quiet On/Off

For its small size and light weight it sounds pretty good in our bedroom. Hooked it up with included rca cables directly to Charter DVR so I can turn off TV and still listen to music. Used included wall plug for power. Is silent when turning on and off. Using it on Standard mode for best all around sound. Better bass than 32” TVs sound. Could program it to my Charter universal remote with code 11564. This open box model at $40 from Best Buy is a keeper for me.

This soundbar is great, if you have a small television (i.e., 32" or less) or you have limited space. I had it for a couple of day. It sounded good, but I decided to return it and upgrade to a bigger model (Insignia NS-HSB318).

Perfect for my cheap smart TV in the bedroom.. I had online help, to pick it out...For a small space, no room for a long sound bar, this is perfect... I had a $35.00 bluetooth speaker that I used for my phone, wired in, but could only adjust the volume on the speaker.. Not fun to have to get out of bed for that! Next TV for my living room, I'll spend more get a better tv, but for my little bedroom, this is solves the problem of tinny tv sound...

The sound bar is great. Unfortunately Insignia has a habit of including dead batteries with the remotes, so don't be surprised if you need to replace the battery out of the box.

    PERFECT SOLUTION!

I never write reviews....but this sound bar solved the nagging problem of low sound from my 24" Samsung TV. I also purchased the optical cable. I hooked it up myself without even reading the directions - works perfectly. There is now an extra (small) remote for volume adjustment, but who cares? I can hear the TV with the fan on. Highly recommend.

    Nightmare

Disclaimer: I'm a senior with limited technical knowledge and even less patience. Before I went to BB, I took a picture off the ports on the back of the non-smart Samsung TV that I'm using.. The RCA ports are red (R) and white (L). I asked two different associates if the soundbar would work if I simply plugged the red plug into the red port and the white plug into the white port. Yup and yup, so I felt pretty confident. I did select the RCA option on the soundbar remote, and the external speaker on the TV. Nothing, so I called Samsung and explained that even though I hooked things up correctly I was not getting any sound. Not a Samsung problem, so I called Insignia and explained the whole thing again. Guess what? It's not an Insignia problem. For those of you who have never had to endure this drill, congratulations. The only option left was to try an optical digital cable since the TV does not have Bluetooth. That did work, but the sound is only marginally better than the TV speaker because I could use the equalizer to adjust the TV sound. The only benefit of the soundbar is that the sound is now directed towards me, instead of coming from the back and/or bottom of the TV. I would definitely return this speaker but I would have to pay at least twice as much to get something better and I'm not willing to do that since this is not the main TV I watch.

I bought this for a small TV. Its been a challenge to find something small enough to mount underneath it and this was a great size for it. I wanted something that would be much louder than the TV speakers to outcompete the noise from a window air conditioner. The quality of sound was improved but the speaker was quieter than the TV. I am returning this.

    Very Poor Audio Quality

This soundbar sounds very flat - the 3 EQ settings are basically bad, worse, worst in that order (standard, theater, news on the remote, respectively). Very disappointed given so many gave this glowing reviews for audio. In my case, the LCD's speakers were far superior in quality. This does get somewhat loud, but it sounds so bad, I don't know why you would sacrifice quality for volume. Pretty much an insta-return for me.

Awesome sound bar in a small footprint. The clarity is so much better than the TV speakers. It has RCA, optical and Bluetooth inputs. Very simple to operate as well. Could not be happier for the little money spent.

Using this in my bedroom with TV. Sound is not as good as the Insignia 39 watt I purchased for the living room TV. A "tinny sound" compared to the Insignia 39 watt better quality sound I had purchased previously. Remote is too small.

Just bought a 43" Samsung and didn't think much of the sound, but don't have the space or inclination for a large soundbar. Saw this and thought I'd give it a try. At normal volumes it was similar but slightly worse than the TV's own sound. At higher volumes it was a LOT worse than the TV. This goes back and I guess I'll just stay with the TVs internal speakers. Maybe with a tiny TV with even worse speakers, this would be an improvement, but for me it wasn't.

I bought this for my mom. I was unable to get sound from it using the audio optical. It might be a limitation of her tv as there was no way to change the audio setting to PMCI. I connected using rca. The sound was terrible. Worse that the crummy speakers on the tv itself. Unfortunately, I did not realize the return policy was only 2 weeks so I cannot return it. Very sad indeed as I wanted to solve the problems she had hearing her tv shows.

For less money there are better sound bars - better sound quality and presence; status lights you can see from your chair instead of walking over to the sound bar (defeats the purpose of the remote, huh?); and include a optical digital cable which is not in this one. Try iLive ITB295B 37" Wireless Soundbar and Tower instead.
