It connects fine to the smart TV and the sound is decent - certainly better than the built in speakers on the TV. Most Sony TV do not have the correct settings to connect the sound bar, and it doesn't work well without and optical cable (not provided). If you have a Sony, I'd advise against buying it.

Is it going to match a surround system? No. Is it going to match the quality of say Boston Acoustics or Klipsch? No. It's also no where near close to the price range those are. If you're looking for something to greatly improve the sound quality of your TV speaker, this will do nicely. The bass is present, the mids are clear, and the highs don't sound tinny or overly muddy. For the price, this is a great buy. We actually liked it so much, we purchased one for as a Christmas present for someone in the family.

Now one remote controls my TV, UHD dvd player and soundbar. All the rest can be delegated to my junk drawer. What a relief!!! No, this soundbar is not up to Bose but for the price, it does an incredible job in upgrading the sound on my 65" TV. It's as if I have a new television set. I'm thinking about getting another one of these soundbars for my bedroom set.

Great Soundbar for cheap

I've found myself connecting to it over bluetooth because the only media connected to the tv is my laptop and it makes things super easy. The only con is that it doesnt turn off by itself and I always forget to turn it off because the lights on it are tiny and not bright. Still a solid product.

What a difference!

Soundbar was reasonably priced on sale, easy to install. Both our Dish remote and Insignia remote operates the Soundbar. Keep it set on volume 1 most of the time.
