Meh. Horrible screeching sounds intermittently.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots to unpack here: 1. Build quality is decent, and the soundbar looks nice 2. The sound quality is actually pretty decent once you adjust bass and equalizer mode But... 3. I'm not a fan of the fact that you cannot mount this soundbar except to hang it on screws. And they don't even include the screws! You have to go to hardware store to get them. 4. The soundbar does NOT detect sound and does not automatically go into standby. So unless you turn soundbar on and off manually, you end up having to leave it on all the time to work smoothly. 5. They don't include optical cable, only RCA jacks and 3.5mm audio cable. So you end up having to buy that too. 6. There is no indication on the soundbar whatsoever what the volume level is. You can turn sound up or down obviously, but there is no row of LED's or anything to give you any idea how loud it is. This can be annoying when the volume is higher than you think and suddenly sound is louder than you expect. 7. Worst of all, either the soundbar I got was bad or they are designed poorly but when I switch inputs on the TV from one thing to the other it emits a super loud screeching noise that can last many seconds, sending you scrambling to reduce the volume. Hope it isn't late at night! Sometimes you can only stop it from screeching by switching input again. So then you get apprehensive about switching inputs. I checked using another soundbar (Vizio) from another room and there were no issues so it is definitely with the soundbar. TL;DR: I packed it right back into the box and returned it. By the time you buy an optical cable and hit up hardware store experimenting screw sizes that will work, you may as well just get a nicer unit of a different brand. This one is just too cheap, just too many problems.

Great sound good price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this sound bar for my RV, My TV speakers are in the back of the set, so when you have the air condition running and people are talking it was hard to hear. Set up was a breeze took a few minutes the sound is great loud enough to hear with all that is going on, very happy with my purchase I would buy again

decent soundbar for the bedroom
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid basic soundbar for a bedroom or a smaller guest room. It does the trick and it's an upgrade from the stock TV speakers. Would not recommend for a larger space such as a living room Pros - cheap price, no frills soundbar Cons - you cannot see the volume change on the TV screen. No ARC output. You will need an optical cable

Perfect simple sound bar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your just looking for an upgrade to your TV speaker this is perfect. The simple 1 bar provides powerful bass filled sound that easily fills up a room. The length of the bar allows for a nice distribution of the sound as well. Its not shooting directly at your face. However it does not have much customization. There are only 3 separate audio settings, with the option to turn the bass off or leave it on. Well worth the money

You get what you pay for at $50
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Black Friday deal at $50. I needed something simple to enhance my mancave tv. I mostly game and the room is a basic size bedroom. As far as sound and quality, much better than the tv speakers. Plenty of bass and depth, especially for a small bedroom. I've seen the complaints about remote response. I haven't had any negative experiences with the remote or the control panel on the bar itself. I recommend this not only for the price but for the quality as well...for single bedrooms. If it's full price at $100, I'd go with a different soundbar that comes with a subwoofer.

No better than TV speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this soundbar for $40, usually $100. Was excited to get it home and connect to my new TV since the TV speakers are in the back and kind of muffled/not vibrant. Easy to connect with RCA cables, easy to control the volume with the TV remote using variable analog audio output setting on the TV. But I had to turn up the volume on the soundbar all the way just to hear sound at a normal volume level on the TV. The sound from the soundbar was barely distinguishable from the TV speakers. The best sound was when both the soundbar and the TV speakers were on, but that was only minimally better than the TV speakers alone. So the soundbar is really just marginally better than the TV speakers and not worth even $40. The worst part was controlling the soundbar. After powering on the soundbar, all the functions worked fine using the remote or the buttons on the side of the soundbar. But after a few minutes, nothing seemed to work without pushing buttons a bunch of times, like a lot of times. There was no response from the soundbar when pushing any of the buttons even just a few times - the power buttons didn't even respond. I repeated the problem multiple times, so it was not a one time fluke. Do not buy this soundbar, you will be disappointed and will have to return it. Might make a good white elephant gift as a joke....

Good Sound bar for Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a good sound bar; BUT the remote very very very rarely works, the bottons on the side don't work at all either. in order to turn it off I have to tip toe and unplug the power cord out of it to turn it off; other than those MAJOR issues its sound is great.

Great for the $$$
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this on sale and to be honest I am impressed. Cost was great and quality blows us away. Only complaint is the controller looks like it’s from the 70s

It's really good.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some things can get a little muddy, but it's a huge improvement over my TV speakers. Certain things like rain sound amazing on it. The bass mode really doesn't add much. Initially I had some trouble with the remote being unresponsive, so I emailed Insignia and they suggested replacing the battery. That did the trick.

Sleek and compact with great sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is perfect. It's exactly what I was looking for! Something sleek and compact with Bluetooth capability I could sneak underneath my 27" monitor without speakers. I don't have room on my tiny desk for two individual speakers, so I was in the market for something with this exact footprint. Bluetooth pairing was pretty much immediate and it sounds awesome, definitely above what you might expect for the price.

Great Sound - Cables Included
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Have a 40" tv and needed something to enhance sounds for movies and other programs. This is way better than I anticipated. Night and day in terms of enjoyment. The description posted here does not mention if cables are included - RCA is. Remote makes operation a breeze. If you have a smaller tv I recommend it.

The biggest bang for the buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's not a home theater, but it's better than your television's speakers. Just bought it today, and it sounds awesome.

Great as long as it's hooked up to the cable box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a smart tv so I can discontinue my cable. Currently I still have the cable box hooked up. I wanted to make sure I actually wanted to get rid of cable. Other purchasers said the tv I bought would be better with a sound bar. This popped up as I was checking out, so I decided to roll with it. Currently it's hooked up through my cable box, if I turn on an app within the tv, the soundbar either turns off or just has no sound at all. I agree with another reviewer about the remote, it's very temperamental. You need to press the power button MULTIPLE times for it to work. I'm returning it. I should be able to switch back & forth. And not have to worry about whether you can turn it on or not

Sound is fine, easy to install and unit looks good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.but the sound bar, as others have mentioned, sometimes becomes completely unresponsive to the remote control. If you're using this as your TV speaker, it makes it impossible to control the volume without walking to the actual unit. Can't be the battery as it's a day old and I'm only 8-10 feet away unobstructed. Sent message to Insignia support, but if they can't fix it I'm going to have to return it. Will adjust my 3-stars up or down depending on the remote control issue - 5-stars if gets fixed, but I also only paid $39.99 Black Friday price.

It is an upgrade from the TV sound.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello, For $70 this is not a bad purchase. It is far better than the tv output and fairly easy to hookup. If you are looking for theater type sound you do not want this item as you will not get that. Thanks.

Like it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the product. It was so easy to connect and use, this is coming from a person who has no knowledge of systems. I love that there are different options like theater, news and stranded. I was not looking for something intricate and this fits my needs. Bought this product during Thanksgiving sale for great price.

Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great soundbar. I thought Theater mode would be a gimmick but it sounds great. I've had this for years and I like that the bass isn't separate in a subwoofer. Only complaint is that you can't control it through a TV via an optical cable, but you can if you use the Red / White cable.

Great Sound...Remote/Switches Do Not Work Properly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this soundbar after having an excellent experience with the original Insignia soundbar. It was hooked up to a new Samsung 4K HDR TV. However, I was immediately disappointed when the remote control or side buttons would not work. I could press the power button on either the remote or on the soundbar itself several times before either would respond. Thinking this was an issue with the soundbar, I exchanged it for a new one. The new one had the same issue. This seems to be a design problem. I will be returning the second soundbar for a refund.
