This is a pretty good soundbar for this price. There are a couple things as to why I give it 4 stars. First, it lacks some cords. It comes with the power cord that is 5' or so and then a HDMI-to-HDMI cable. But you can also plug in an aux cord, but they do not provide that. I would like to have seen them provide that cord as well. The Bass, it has 7 settings, -3 to 3. But going from that, I did not tell too much of a difference. I like some bass, and this just does not hit that spot for me. Great if you do not care for bass. The treble has the same -3 to 3 but that I could hear a difference. It also has 4 modes you can change from, like theater, standard, news and night. Surprised no gaming mode though. But sound, outside of this not really having much for bass, the rest is great. It gets plenty loud. It has about 16 clicks for the sound. It has 7 bars for it and within those bars it will have 2-3 clicks per bar. I have it set around 6 clicks with my phone and that is pretty loud. I have a smaller monitor that does not have speakers, so this was perfect for sitting under that and plugged in via the aux port. I had to find an aux cord like I mentioned as this did not come with one. Overall great sound for price. I recommend this if you are looking for a smaller soundbar and don't care for bass.

When it comes to electronic brands, Best Buy's Insignia brand probably isn't one of the first ones that someone looks at when getting ready to purchase, especially if it isn't a small peripheral. So, in everything, I've always looked at the overall value, considering quality, functionality and, of course, the price. For me, I've never looked away from Insignia and have actually had pretty good success with the Insignia items I have obtained, especially one of their 4K TVs. This 2.0 Mini Soundbar is now another one I have found to meet my value expectations, or maybe even exceed it. While I was mainly intending on using this soundbar, placing it on my desk, connecting to the TV in my home office so I could better listen to it later at night without being too loud and waking anyone up, I've also expanded my use with connecting to my PC and phone. So far, it has worked great with everything! For the TV, I am connecting via Bluetooth, and it has no issues. Dialogue is clear and I've verified the sound doesn't leave the hallway just outside the door. Listening to music from my phone or PC has been really good as well! Granted, it doesn't have super, subwoofer-like bass, but if setting the equalizer on the playing device, and turning up the bass level with the remote, it will still sound pretty good! The styling of the soundbar isn't anything extravagant, just the inputs (which the inputs available are HDMI ARC, Optical, 3.5mm Auxiliary, and Bluetooth) and power port on an ingress slot in the back, and 4 control buttons on the top. The left and right end corners are rounded, so it isn't just a fully plain straight-edge, sharp-cornered box. The top plastic has a matte finish, so shouldn't get too many fingerprints. The front speaker cover is a perforated metal screen. In the middle of the screen are LED lights that help indicate the source (a different color for each), the volume level (multiple lights/intensity) and Treble or Bass level (when changing those using the remote). The control buttons are in the middle, near the front. These are just about the only items I have an issue with as they have icons for their function, but I couldn't make them out with the room lighting (having to turn on my flashlight on my phone to actually see them) or by touch (except for the volume - and + buttons). The remote does have some lighter-shaded icons and wording, but are a mid to lighter gray, and for me, still almost not as easy to read. Using something closer to white may have been a little more beneficial. Even though this may not produce movie theater-quality sound, it still does a really good job at a really good value (= a really nice price!!) and will likely still be a great improvement on any built-in speakers.

    Soundbar for the tablet

This mini soundbar is an impressive piece of tech. I nearly looked past it, but the general consensus was solid online. The pictures piqued my curiosity because of the possibilities of how to use this soundbar at such a small size & price. I wanted to see if my wife and I could use it to boost the sound we are getting while using our tablet watching various things like football and listening to music primarily. Appearance: While unassuming to look at with just 4 buttons on the top and a slightly off color speaker grill, I had to look in the booklet to find out exactly what these buttons did. While I appreciate that there is no white font showing what each does, my blind self couldn’t read what each button did initially. For the record, they are power, source, volume up, volume down, I also used the included remote that worked just fine as well. Nothing fancy and I like that. Set up: While figuring out what each button did, again, very basic here that simply works. I mainly use this mini soundbar as a BT speaker, but also is HDMI compatible for TVs too. While it wouldn’t be replacing my actual TV soundbar, I feel better knowing I have a back up now just in case. After holding down the pairing to S9Ultra tablet was fast and easy. Took about a second to switch over to the soundbar. I also adjusted the bass and lowered it as I felt it was blocking out other sounds in the music I was playing. I haven’t had to adjust it since, which tells me that the sound this mini soundbar produces is solid. Sound: Really excels here. My main test case impresses me every time. Specifically when listening to music on the tablet, I turn on the soundbar and when it switches over there is around 30% increase in sound. It is very noticeable every time and fills our room like the tablet wasn’t. For the record, this mini soundbar by Insignia is priced under $40 and over performs in this price range. Personally, I have to say how nice it is to have a very price competitive device that has several use cases with great sound. This fills the space of tech like tablets, phones or monitors that don’t quite have this level of sound. I highly recommend this Insignia 2.0 mini soundbar if you have the use cases for it. While no Bose or Sony, it doesn’t need to be. A great companion to existing tech I already had around the house.

    Improved Audio at Bargain Price

I have never owned a Soundbar or had a serious interest in one. However, having just bought a new 2025 (major brand) 65” Smart TV, and having the opportunity to evaluate this soundbar, I tried it out. Installing the Soundbar was an very uncomplicated process. After several failed attempts to connect via Bluetooth, I used the included HDMI cable and was quickly good to go. My understanding of a soundbar is that it should improve the audio experience. My new TV has audio with Dolby Atmos, as well as AI assistance. Numerous modes are also part of the audio package. Compared by alternating with and without the Soundbar, I found no significant difference with the Soundbar. As a result, this Soundbar could be immensely helpful for TVs without excellent audio built in. Also, this Insignia model comes at a very reasonable price for the performance. While the Soundbar does perform well, I found the operation annoying at times. There are four flat black-on-black buttons for manual operation. Hard to see and unlabeled. Using the remote is, of course, the easier way to go. Besides, if the outcome improves the audio, it could minimize or even eliminate a little annoyance. Overall, this compact Soundbar can enhance your TV audio experience and for a very reasonable price.

    Solid Sound, Nifty Little Soundbar

I have had the experience of owning several or more Insignia products over the years and I’ve found them to be a bit of a hit or miss, honestly. I would say that this soundbar is one of the hits. Now, that being said, please realize that this is a type of generic, Best Buy“house brand” and not one of the pricier, fancy, well-known name brands of sound systems so you have to temper any expectations. Practically speaking, it does the job. I am no big audiophile; I’m not particularly picky concerning the quality of sound when I’m listening to music or watching television or a movie, etc., but I am somewhat sensitive to at least a good overall sound when engaging in those entertainments. I have this soundbar connected to my desktop computer via aux (3.5mm audio); I also use it via Bluetooth with my smartphone and tablets. Both have proved to be stable and good connections; I like being able to utilize different connectivities depending on what I’m doing throughout the day. It fits very nicely on my desk, right under my monitor and off to the side; it can be wall-mounted and the materials to do so are included. The bass and treble levels can be adjusted to your specifications—this is pretty much the extent of my knowledge when it comes to stereo systems and really the only thing I’m interested in fine-tuning. I really like that it comes with a remote control as well. This soundbar is pretty basic overall in terms of looks, quality, and features, but it is a solid bargain if you’re looking for a simple soundbar speaker that won’t break the bank.

Given price this is an amazing deal. Audio quality is decent enough for a small room or short seating distance. I just wish it had a USB interface for using with a PC, instead of using it for playing MP3s from a thumb drive. If it had that I would rate it 5/5.
