Second one of thrse and im consistently surprised at how great and inexpensive it is!

First one of these that actually improves voices. Bass is tight and treble Ok.

I have the previous model of this, the NS-HTSB20S which I purchased Summer of 2025 for use with my bedroom TV. It works wonderfully. Great sound quality, not a single problem. So I went to get another for my living room TV, to replace old computer speakers I was using, as they had better sound quality than the Sony's built-in soundbar-bait speakers. Sound quality of this new model is still good. Unfortunately now it has some feature to shut it off quickly or mute quiet parts which the previous model didn't, resulting in conversations with missing words here and there. Tried turning the TV volume way up and using the soundbar's volume only, didn't help. Shame they ruined a great product just to release an updated model which is actually downgraded. By the way I tried both the optical out and the 3.5 mm aux in and they both cut out like this.

The sound bar didn't produce as much volume as I had hoped, but then again, it was my first test on a sound bar & only cost $29, so I think it probably produced to its capacity. Given all that , I would buy it again before trying a $200 soundbar.

It worked really good the first day or so, but now doesn't seem as 'loud'. For example, to comfortably hear the new tv (bf sound bar) was '38' when we first got the sound bar it was '24/25' now it's '36.'

It’s ok a little better than the TV speakers would recommend

So a couple of things I didn’t like about this is when tv sits idle for a while this goes into shutdown mode and has to be reset to start and overall I thought the sound would be much better.price was reasonable

It’s not so much the product, but when I asked cus svc how difficult it was to hook up - seeing that it’s made by the same company as my tv, he said without hesitation, just plug it into the tv and to the cable box and wall outlet- that’s it - ok, so I bought it- NOPE NOT TRUE. Some kind of fancy syncing that I don’t understand..and worse when you add in a remote ..tried to follow directions- didn’t even understand them… I hate today’s technology

When using auxiliary input, unit goes into “power save” mode if there is a slight pause in music/conversation. Seems ok when using optical or Bluetooth.
