Customers are saying

Customers recognize the 2.1 Bluetooth Speaker System's exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and strong Bluetooth connectivity as significant advantages. Many appreciate the system's compact size and the value for its price. However, some users mention that the maximum volume could be higher and that longer cords would improve placement flexibility. A few also reported minor compatibility issues with certain devices.

I was actually a little disappointed with the sound quality of this setup. Was not as clear as a logitec satellites setup I had heard before.

Junk. Power connection from right speaker to sub-woofer was loose on both sets purchases. As I live 25 miles from the store, it cost me time and money to return these items. I eventually purchased another model (Logitech), which performs fine.

I bought the logitechZ232 and after hearing insignia Bluetooth didn't care about the Bluetooth, I returned the Z232 and exchanged them for this one, bigger subwoofer, more bass, and the speakers were louder and more clear, best 50.00 dollars ever spent, didn't care about Bluetooth, I just wanted more bass, and the bass level is right in the front of the satellite speakers so no need to reach on the back of the subwoofer to turn the bass up or down, I play games on steam and play music and they sound awesome and it is nice to have a little bit of bass in my room

This speaker set's primary sound input is bluetooth. The wired audio runs into the back of one of the speakers, and it doesn't lend itself to a permanent desk type setup.

Very easy to set up, took me a whole 30 seconds. When it comes to connectivity I have no problems, they quickly connected to both my phone and computer without any cut outs. The sound quality like I said is just as good as the Bose speakers in my car. I personally like the look of them and over all these speakers are worth every penny. I am surprised they don't cost more. Anyone who is looking for some low cost speakers but still want sound quality should order their own Insignia - 2.1 Bluetooth Speaker System.

    Great sound, when it works

I have a love / hate relationship with these speakers. On one hand, the sound quality is quite exceptional - especially for the price. The sound is extremely clear and the bass is very full. On other hand, I simply cannot recommend these speakers to anyone who plans to use them for anything outside of playing music via bluetooth. The biggest issue with these speakers is how the bluetooth / line-in is setup. The bluetooth takes dominance, even if you have the line-in plugged in. If there's silence, or even low volume (whispering in movies, or ambient sounds in a silent scene) the speakers will turn the line-in off and start searching for a bluetooth signal. Even when sound picks up again in the movie, the speakers will only re-active ate (after 5-10 seconds of constant sound) 50% of the time. Since the bluetooth sound has a slight delay to it - causing the line-in to be mandatory for any movie / game, this make the speakers absolutely useless for movies / games. (tonight while watching a movie, I missed over 10 minutes of dialogue due to this) If you need a pair of speakers for playing music via bluetooth, this is a great option. If you need a pair of speakers for movies / games, look elsewhere. But be warned - the bluetooth sound quality is lesser than the line-in sound quality. These speakers make a lot of needless sacrifices in the name of automation.

These speakers work and the sound is great, but they can be finicky when I try to use them with my TV. They won't sync up right away when I plug them, not playing any sound whIle I'm watching a movie or something on Netflix. it'll go back and forth when it comes to the sound wanting to be on. That's my only problem with these speakers. Otherwise, they're nice speakers.

I've had these speakers for just over two years now and I've never experienced any issues! Easy to pair with my laptop, smartphones and tablets The dedicated subwoofer offers great kick when you need it and since there is a dedicated volume knob for the low end you can crank it when you want or turn it off and still enjoy great sound. Well worth the buy and you won't be disappointed!

    Decent sound, poor functionality

This speaker system is close to what it should be, but it falls short due to issues related to the way Bluetooth was implemented. For a relatively inexpensive speaker system, the build quality is better than I would expect. This prevents any of the rattling some systems have when the volume is turned up. It's not solid enough to prevent any coloration of the sound, but for the price point it's more than I ask. Connecting via Bluetooth is as smooth as it gets, but it comes at a price. The system was designed primarily for Bluetooth connectivity with little regard for the cabled connections used when hooking it to most computers. The cabled connection is only activated when sound is playing through it, and it takes around two seconds before it detects the sound. This means it will miss the beginning of anything that is being played. It wouldn't be an issue, but if there is anything quiet or silent for 10 seconds it will drop the connection and switch back to Bluetooth mode. This is by design, and it makes the system near useless for anything but Bluetooth. The other side effect of how Bluetooth was implemented is a very noticeable background noise that occurs every 10-15 seconds while playing via the cabled connection due to the Bluetooth radio searching for connections. If playing sound via Bluetooth, the background noise is a constant. Since this is pretty common when using Bluetooth, though, that in itself isn't a big deal. In short, if you only intend to use this speaker system for Bluetooth and nothing else, it's not a bad choice. If you intend to use it otherwise, I'd stay away from it. Mine will be going back due to the design flaws.

Connectivity for setting devices up can be problematic at times, but once the speakers are set up, the sound is great. I keep the subwoofer and one small speaker in my living room, and one speaker in my kitchen when I am cooking or cleaning. I can still hear my music and broadcasts throughout my apartment, which is nice. I would recommend.

I really love these. The option to adjust the bass is one that I didn't know I needed before these but am now extremely happy to have. The only thing that bothers me is how weird the pairing is: the speakers don't always scan long enough to pair with the device and they don't always find the device (even if I've previously used the device with the speaker). The aux cord that came with them doesn't really work all that well because I think the speakers keep trying to pair anyway. All in all, though, I really love these. Buy them. The end.

This is a good speaker system for the price, but obviously you get what you pay for as the subwoofer has a ferocious resonance (play with putting it in different locations until it sounds close to what you want). My other gripe is the owners manual did not seem to make it and the closest store is over an hour's drive away. Best Buy doesn't seem able to put links to the manuals online as most other places do, so it pays to check everything before leaving the parking lot. I was looking forward to using the Bluetooth feature, now it won't happen for some time... Bottom line: if you want something simple, this is it - gripe aside!

I got this item to work with my Dynex LED TV because the sound was horrible. Now, no need for the built-in equalizer because the speakers shake the walls with deep and rich sound! I am impressed.
