I purchased this sound bar not expecting anything spectacular, just a basic soundbar to go with our new TV. Bottom line up front, this product is not worth even the sale price. The setup and operation of the soundbar right out of the box was so difficult and glitchy we had to call Geek Squad to come make an attempt at setup (another $100 we could have just used for a better wuality soundbar) hoping we could just get it to work. Jilly from Geek squad (who was fantastic by the way!) struggled for over an hour to get it to work. She was finally able to get it to function, but the subwoofer makes an audible “popping” noise whenever its in use. No amount of adjusting settings could remedy this, she concluded it was just poor wuality equipment. She ended up telling me this soundbar is junk and to return it to Best Buy and purchase something else. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME, even at a sale price its not worth rolling the dice that you’ll get anything other than a pile of electronic junk. Very disappointed, now I have to take it back to store to return it. Thankfully the return process seems straight forward.

I bought my sound bar when i saw that insignia made a new product. I purchased this last week, and the subwoofer doesn't want to connect after the 2nd day. I've been at war with it ever since I've tried reaching out, but no one contacted me

Hi there! I’m sorry to hear that your Insignia™ 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is not working as intended. It’s designed to automatically pair with the subwoofer on initial set up. If this is not the case, there are detailed instructions in the manual to assist you in reestablishing the Bluetooth connection. https://files.bbystatic.com/lOwSXimkcs5YsGygDcCbew%3D%3D/Quick%2BSetup%2BGuide
“Manually connecting the subwoofer and soundbar
If your subwoofer does not connect automatically to your soundbar, the subwoofer pairing LED slowly blinks turquoise.
To manually pair them:
1 Make sure that your soundbar is powered on and positioned next to your subwoofer.
2 Press and hold the (source selector) button on your soundbar for three seconds. The soundbar enters pairing mode and its LED blinks turquoise quickly.
3 Press and hold the PAIRING button on the subwoofer for three seconds. The subwoofer enters pairing mode and its LED blinks turquoise quickly.
4 The soundbar and subwoofer should pair automatically. The soundbar's LED lights solid based on the selected source. The subwoofer's LED lights solid turquoise”

INSIGNIA 2.1 Soundbar Review – Big Sound. Tiny Price. Zero Headaches.
Yo, tired of your TV sounding like it's trapped in a shoebox? Want that BOOM without blowing your budget?
Meet the Insignia™ 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and DTS:Virtual X – the ultimate sound upgrade for literally anyone who just wants their shows, games, and music to actually sound GOOD.
Why This Soundbar Slaps:
Plug It In. Done.
No engineering degree required. Just plug it in, turn it on, and BOOM — you're surrounded by sound. Even your grandma could set it up.
Big BASS You Can Feel
This bad boy comes with a WIRELESS subwoofer (yes, wireless = no messy cords) that adds that THUMP you’ve been missing. Whether it’s explosions, EDM drops, or jump scares — you’ll feel it in your bones.
Virtual Surround, Baby
It’s got DTS:Virtual X — fancy talk for “makes it sound like there are speakers all around you.” So even if you’ve only got this one bar, it feels like a full theater setup. Total cheat code for movie nights.
Perfect for Gaming
Your games just got LOUDER and way more epic. Footsteps? Crashes? Laser blasts? Oh yeah. You're not just playing anymore — you’re in it.
What You’re Actually Getting:
2.1 Channels (Soundbar + wireless sub)
Bluetooth ready (play music straight from your phone)
Multiple modes (Game, Movie, News – just hit a button)
Sleek black design – it actually looks cool under your TV
Wall mountable – instant “I have my life together” energy
All This for Under $100!?
Yep. This thing’s usually around $89–99. That’s cheaper than most AirPods and will instantly make your Netflix nights, parties, and TikTok scrolling feel 100x cooler.
Real Talk:
“Dude, I didn’t even know soundbars could hit like this.”
“My TV sounds 1000x better now. Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
“Games sound sick. Subwoofer legit shook my floor.”
Heads Up:
It’s not gonna compete with $1000 systems. It’s not trying to.
Some people had rare subwoofer connection issues, but restarting usually fixes it.
Final Thoughts:
You’re not an audio nerd. You just want your stuff to sound good. And this thing DELIVERS.
Best for:
First apartments
Dorms
Teen bedrooms
Broke gamers
Anyone with a TV from this decade
Rating: 9/10 — “If your TV still sounds like it’s underwater, fix that today.”
Wanna look cool and sound cool for under 100 bucks?
Buy this. Right now. Thank me later.

Very good for the price. Installation was as simple as possible. (It's never fun to try to plug stuff into the back of a TV.) The wireless subwoofer connected automatically. For my ears it has great sound. I can feel the thump of the sub. Made me feel like I was at the football game. You do have to change the audio setting on your TV to switch it to the new speakers. Not difficult, but be aware.

I’m really impressed with this Insignia 2.1 soundbar and subwoofer. Setup was super simple — I had it connected to my TV and working in minutes. The sound is crisp, and the bass hits way better than I expected for this price range. Movies, music, and even regular TV sound so much fuller now. The wireless subwoofer adds that nice punch without taking up much space. Definitely worth it if you want to upgrade your TV sound without spending a fortune.

This was sound bar was simple to set up, plug and play for the most part. The sound out of this thing really surprised me for the price point. It gives a great surround sound atmosphere with deep bass, and has a news channel option that cuts the bass off and makes it so all you hear is the voices, which my wife appreciates when she is trying to sleep or turn it on to movie mode to get the full experience if you want to watch a movie when your kids take over the living room. Over all you can't go wrong with the soundbar.

The sound bar’s built quality is pretty good. The fact that it includes mounting hardware and screws is very nice. However, the sound bar’s power might be lacking. If you are looking for a truly heart-pounding movie and music listening experience. The sound bar itself will start to compress when heavy bass hits, even though the little drivers are primarily midrange and treble. This means that you may experience pumping when listening to movies at high volumes. The soundbar does connect via a wide range of inputs, so you're covered if you wish to have multiple sources connected such as HDMI for your TV, Toslink for your turntable, and aux for your phone or iPod. Switching between them is possible with the remote, and the buttons on top of the main soundbar are useful as well. I just wish this soundbar would talk like the Vizio units do, but for $80, you can't go wrong with a little 6.5 wireless sub and soundbar.

This is very nice entry level sound system. It was easy to setup with my Samsung TV and is use to use. The light at the center of the sound bar is easy to see so it's easy to tell what mode it's in and it sounds crisp. As for the subwoofer it can cause strong bass. Also I didn't see it advertised but this system has a Night Mode that nerfs the bass & increases the treble making it easier to use when others need quiet time

I bought this soundbar and system to go in my office not expecting it to be too loud but I was highly mistaken. It could be due to the small room but compared to my Polk sound system, the quality and clarity is amazing. The wireless subwoofer has great bass with equally great sound as well as the sound bar. It's also well designed and not an eyesore as some I've seen in the past. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for great quality surround sound at somewhat of a budget.

Fantastic! Love it. under $100. Buy this one. You'll be impressed. Trust me. And I'm used to a 5 speaker with base Bose surround sound. Easy hook up. My wife uses night mode because she hates surround sound. She's not complaining about it being "too loud".

I must say, it has great sound quality. The subwoofer definitely has nice bass, but mine makes weird “clicking” sound if its on and im not playing anything. To make it stop, i have to either mute the system or shut it off completely. Makes me think it’s defective and might go out at some time soon.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's great to hear that you're enjoying the sound quality and bass of the subwoofer. However, the clicking sound when it's not in use does sound concerning. It might be a defect, and it's understandable to worry about it potentially failing. If you haven't already, you might want to reach out to customer support for assistance or consider getting it checked out. If there's anything else we can help with, please let us know!

Let's not confuse this with anything that will rattle your room. It's powerful enough for a small room. For us, it's being used in a loft/office room that's approximately 10x15. It's perfect. Improves the sound of a recently purchased 40" flatscreen by a hundred times. Great price. I'd have given it a 5 star review but setup is not as intuitive as it should be. I'm very savvy when it comes to these things but for the average person, they may have difficluty.
