Phenomenal sound at an unbeatable price!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Insignia 2.1 channel sound bar with wireless subwoofer is awesome. Makes big time sound for television, movies or just listening to music in any room. It’s an incredibly economical, all in one sound system upgrade to really boost my audio experience. High-fidelity sound without the high price. This unit is technically 2.1 channel, but with DTS virtual-X on board, it utilizes those 3 speakers to produce an amazing 3-D sound experience in any room, regardless of shape or size. The unit amazing sound reproduction all around and creates an immersive audio environment for everyone in the room. The unit utilizes 2 front firing speakers in the bar itself for plenty of rich clean audio volume. The wireless subwoofer packs that low end punch to really bring the entire audio experience to life. Pair the two together and prepare for pure audio bliss. Sound quality and value are exceptional when considering the price and size of this soundbar. Crystal clear highs and mids, paired with the impressive bass response from the wireless sub-woofer. I started off with this in my daughter’s bedroom for her to watch movies and television but quickly became jealous and got another for my own bedroom because the sound was so pure. This soundbar has plenty of volume and bass. I really appreciate the flexibility of the wireless subwoofer; this allowed me to place the sub in a more discrete location in the room without having to worry about running any wires or having them exposed. Design-wise this soundbar and subwoofer are simple and elegant. Nice lines and basic black color fit seamlessly into any room. Its compact and lightweight build makes setup a breeze, and reorganizing isn’t a nightmare if you move things around. This can easily sit as a tabletop sound bar or even comes with included wall mounting hardware kit. Functionality and connectivity are great. Offers HDMI ARC with included cable for lossless audio, Bluetooth, digital optical, 3.5mm AUX, or USB. Makes this bar perfect for different streaming needs and compatible with a wide array of devices. I’ve only ever needed to use the HDMI and Bluetooth, but it’s nice to have the others there if ever needed. Overall, this Insignia 2.1 channel sound bar with wireless subwoofer has been awesome. Fantastic high-end audio features, very easy to set up and use. Price, quality and enjoyment are unparalleled, as I’ve come to expect and enjoy from BestBuy and their Insignia product line.

Great Value Product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia sound bar is a well-built, easy to setup, good sounding sound bar with a number of premium features at a value price. The build quality of this soundbar is super nice. it has a strong plastic shell with a metal grate. There are a number of inputs/outputs hidden on the back of the soundbar, including a 3.5mm port, a USB port, an optical port, and HDMI port. You can also wirelessly connect a Bluetooth device. I appreciate the variety of ports because I can hook up multiple devices to it. I use 3 of them--the HDMI for my television, the 3.5mm port for a record player, and Bluetooth for my phone. The box included a remote control, batteries, a mounting bracket, and an HDMI cable. Sidenote, while I did not end up mounting my soundbar, I wanted to mention it comes with a mounting bracket, and it seems like it would be pretty easy to do. Setting up the soundbar was very straightforward. For my television, I just connected it via HDMI ARC and it worked. To connect via Bluetooth, I just long-pressed the Bluetooth button on the remote and found the device in my device's Bluetooth list--it was seamless. For the subwoofer, it immediately paired to the soundbar when I plugged it in. One feature that intrigued me about this sound bar was the dialogue enhancement setting. I tested it out and confirm it did work, but it seemed like the trade-off is it unbalances the EQ. I thought the sound quality on this soundbar was great. My biggest concern with a soundbar is that the soundstage won't feel large. Even though this soundbar is small, it sounds big. I tested it in a 2 bedroom apartment and thought it struck a good balance of taking up the space but not to the extent it would garner a noise complaint. The speakers sound super crisp and clear. It seems pretty well rounded in terms of the default EQ. Overall, I'd recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good quality soundbar at a great price.

Great for Home Office or Simple Home Theater Uses
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I like: * The wall-mount template in the box earns major points. Mounting it below my office monitor was straightforward and quick — no need to eyeball the spacing or search for which screws go where. Nice job, Insignia. * A wireless subwoofer has the advantage that I get real 2.1 channel sound — the bar up front and the woofer stuffed behind a credenza out of sight but still punching away. Top end, for an office, that makes movies, music and conference videos come with a whole lot more punch than the built-in display speakers. * Bluetooth streaming is a nice functional touch. I love the convenience of being able to just pick my phone or iPad up and hit “play,” * The unit offers a variety of input options (optical, HDMI ARC,aux) so I didn’t feel wed to one type of connection. That is an extra bit of flexibility that can be good in a dual-purpose (office/entertainment) room where the mix of devices may change. • Dialogue or speech clarity is enhanced. I work in a home office, so I often have other noise or ambient sounds (dog, HVAC) and a soundbar is just waht the Dr ordered for clarity and volume. What I don’t love / trade-offs: • It’s solid for the money, but this is not a premium hi-fi system. The bass from the subwoofer is decent in a medium-sized room, but don’t expect earth-shaking rumble or full low-frequency immersion like a dedicated home-theater rig. • The remote and onboard controls feel basic. If you’re used to high-end audio gear with advanced tone controls, presets, and fine-tuning, you’ll notice some limitation here. • Depending on how you mount it and where the subwoofer sits, you may need to take a bit of care to positioning and acoustics (especially in an office with lots of reflective surfaces or furniture) to get the best performance. • Because it’s being used in a multi-purpose space, you have to balance volume and bass so you don’t disturb others. The soundbar does well but doesn’t give huge leeway…if you push it hard, you’ll hear its limits. How it works in my office I travel a lot and work on projects or events in my in-home office, so the soundbar works great with the setup I've got going. I mounted it under the big-monitor/TV screen using the template; subwoofer sits behind a side credenza. For team video calls or reviewing footage shot on construction sites, I get distinctly better clarity than from the built-in display speakers. Casual tapping in on Bluetooth while I’m sketching out timelines or reviewing maps means that I can stream without dealing with additional wires or switching sources. And because I occasionally watch a film or sports in the darkened rooms on that setup, 2.1 provides me with field-filling sound without lots of gear requiring an actual AV room. My verdict If I had to choose one word: smart. It’s not claiming to be a boutique audio masterpiece, but for cost, function, inclusion of wall-mount hardware/template and subwoofer plus flexibility in a multi-use space — well done for an office setup. If you’re planning that dedicated high-end theater room or want primo surround + Atmos levels, you’ll have to step up. But in an office/dual-purpose space where clean install, simple streaming and better than built-in audio matter – this thing is great. Would I recommend it? Yes — for that very sort of use-case.

Great sounding, budget 2.1 system for small spaces
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit, I was initially underwhelmed by the Insignia 2.1 soundbar with subwoofer. It did not come with the batteries for the remote (which the box says it should have), and connecting it to the TV in my great room yielded sound that was lacking, although in all honesty, that really wasn’t fair to expect big sound from a small, budget friendly system, especially when the 5.1 surround sound system I normally use has speakers twice as large and twice as heavy. I then moved it to my master bedroom which is where I had originally planned to use this, and it was a night and day difference, I was extremely impressed especially with the bass response, which was nearly imperceptible in the great room. The key to this was locating the soundbar under the TV on my dresser, and then placing the wireless subwoofer on my nightstand right next to the bed. To test the sound quality of the system, I used 2 of my go-to movies: the opening scene from Terminator 2; and the lobby scene from The Matrix. Both of these scenes are meant to be played at high volume and have massive amounts of bass, and the Insignia 2.1 system really delivered! I didn’t just hear, I actually FELT the base coming from the little (12.6 x 7.68 x 7.68 inches) subwoofer, while the 31.5 inch wide soundbar did a decent job of driving the mid-range and highs, with no distortion even at really high volumes. I then connected my phone to the soundbar via Bluetooth and played some AC/DC and Nine Inch Nails, which again gave me really good bass and clean sounding vocals. The Insignia 2.1 soundbar with subwoofer has all the inputs you could want: Bluetooth, optical, HDMI Arc, and even a 3.5mm Aux jack. You could even load up a USB flash drive with music and connect to the USB port. It comes with the power cords for the soundbar and subwoofer; a well appointed remote control with batteries, an HDMI cable, and mounting hardware and templates for wall mounting the soundbar if you would want to do that. I would not recommend this, or any soundbar in this price range, for your main TV in a large room, that’s not what this is for. But for a small apartment or a bedroom TV, this little guy punches above its weight class. For that reason, I give this soundbar and subwoofer system an enthusiastic recommendation.
