Pay the extra for something else. The shelves aren’t adjustable so I removed the top shelf so I could have tall items without turning them sideways. Still awkward but it worked.
We finally got it installed about 1.5 months ago, I went to close the door just like any other day and a plastic piece flew across the room and now the door doesn’t close unless you manually push and hold it. The piece is a guide from the bottom of the door, seems pretty important in the way it operates…so I called for service since I have a manufacturer warranty.
I just received a call that they are unable to find anyone who can work on this refrigerator. What?!?! I live in a very large city, but no one can work on it?
I should have believed the reviews, this refrigerator is not a good value, even at the marked down price. I’m stuck with a hunk of junk in my beautiful new kitchen. A plastic closing mechanism? Seriously? We can’t even find the piece online to try replacing it ourselves!

We’ve had this fridge for a year and 4 months. Our previous fridge was a traditional top freezer style, but I read that bottom freezers are more efficient, so we opted for this style this time. This particular model is fine. Pros: sleek and compact design, seems to maintain temperatures well. Cons: 1. the French doors don’t always completely close, and the “door open” sensor doesn’t catch it. Really gotta be careful to close them. 2. The fridge shelves are not adjustable. For tall items like a quart or gallon size beverage, you have to put it in the door or lay it on its side on a shelf. 3. Maybe not the highest quality construction. A small plastic piece randomly broke off of one of the door hinges less than a year after we bought it. (But it didn’t seem to be a critically functioning part so we didn’t get it fixed.) But this was a relatively inexpensive model so maybe a case of getting what you pay for.

I did a huge amount of research when in the market for a new fridge, and this model has so many good points for the price. The crisper blew my mind as it kept my veggies fresh for a whopping two months! I love the outward opening doors, and the water and crushed/cubed Ice dispenser is so convenient, The filter lasts for one year. You can also turn on Ecco-mode and it finds the best low power temperature for the unit. If you want high quality build and lots of features but are on a budget, this fridge is for you!

we had all of our appliances delivered on Friday Aug 26th by Cooper and John with the Geek Squad and they did a great job. Everything was just as the order said it would be when i ordered it on online. They called before our delivery time and were so efficient when they got here. they used those moving straps i have only seen on an infomercial and they worked beautifully. I didn't think of it at the time but way better than using a moving dolly that could scratch the floor. they were in and out unboxed all of it and let us look at it to make sure we were happy and then took all of the trash or packaging wih them. the entire service went flawlessly

Decent fridge. Nothing special. Left door doesn’t close well. Have to use extra force. When left door open, left side drawers can open. Shelves not large enough to put bottles standing up.

It’s was a great purchase, especially for the price. Overall the refrigerator is nice, but I absolutely HATE that the shelves can’t be adjusted! It makes it hard to store large bottles like gallons of milk and Juice.

I really liked the idea of having the ice maker and water on the door. And loved the style of the fridge. But really not enough room on the inside of the doors. And shelves are not able to be moved. Swapped for the water inside the fridge model.

Horrible refrigerator with multiple problems

Absolutely horrible refrigerator. It has had constant problems and we'll be forced to replace it only 15 months after buying it. The ice maker won't work because the light trigger is broken, and while we might repair that, the freezer suddenly stops working for no reason every few weeks, melting everything in it. It previously had a problem over freezing things put in it so items like ice cream were mostly useless.
Functional wise, you can't adjust the shelves which makes it awkward for storage.

I'm on my second Insignia refrigerator in less than 6 months! Both of them had bad compressors. The first one I purchased open box, I was told it was tested and in working condition otherwise they wouldn't have it for sale. It was delivered in Dec and it NEVER worked, NEVER cooled or freeze. They took it back and this time I purchased a brand new one so to avoid any problems. Well 4 months later I'm having the same problem! Again the compressor stoped working on a long weekend when I was out of town, came home and had to throw away my entire groceries and everything in the freezer. Getting them to repair it has been very frustrating. When I called it in I was told no one was available for til the following week, which is really unacceptable for a major appliance. I'm going on 2 diagnostics and 3 weeks without a refrigerator because they are waiting for a part. I mean for something like a refrigerator there should be faster services. I have kids at home and can't keep groceries. It's been so inconvenient and expensive having to buy food out or go to a store daily because of this. Everytime I call geek squad they refer me back to the 3rd party repair who is supposed to do the service. When I call the 3rd party they refer me back to the warranty provider. Seriously I shouldn't be dealing with this on a refrigerator that is only been in use for 4 months! These refrigerators should be recalled but instead they just discontinued them. DO NOT BUY INSIGNIA

The freezer wouldn’t stay sealed. It would stay open and not detect so no door alarm. The shelves don’t move and you can’t put tall things on the shelves. However with the protection plan I was able to get something else.

It’s a working fridge, but the design of the ice maker and water filter take up a lot of cubic footage inside. I’m comparing it to my old fridge which was bigger and more customizable so I’m disappointed in this one, but so far it functions as it should.

Didn’t realize the inside shelves do no adjust. If you use a lot of tall container liquids (milk, soda, etc) then not the best fridge for use.

A little wider and not as tall an expected. Shelves aren’t that either making it difficult to place liters upright. Ice maker is great
