Doesn't support Apple Airplay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Insignia Fire TV specifically because it claimed to support Apple AirPlay, but that turned out to be completely false or at best misleading. There is no native AirPlay option in the settings, and after extensive troubleshooting, I learned that the only available option is “Enable Display Mirroring,” which does not work with iPhones since Apple uses AirPlay, not Miracast. To even attempt mirroring, I had to install a third-party app (Airscreen) which is full of ads, has unpolished language, and feels like a workaround rather than a supported feature. This is not the seamless integration Apple users expect, and definitely not what was advertised. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem and want true AirPlay functionality, do not buy this TV. Look for models that explicitly list “AirPlay 2” under their specs — this one doesn’t support it in any meaningful or native way.

After closing an app and turning the tv off, it still has audio playing of the last app watched. Also, it turns itself off after a couple of minutes if you pause anything. Picture is ok but not the greatest and the screen has areas that look faded on certain channels. I’ve played around with settings and can’t find a true fix for any of these things. I wish I had gone with a different brand. Definitely will not recommend and won’t purchase anything from this manufacturer or with FireTV ever again. Waste of money and very frustrating.
