    Excellent budget TV

When an old 32 inch flatscreen a friend gave me died recently, I needed to get another one. My whole apartment and especially the bedroom are small, so a 24inch screen made sense. This 24" Fire Edition Insignia TV was an early Black Friday item that was marked off nearly 50%, so I grabbed it. It was the last one available that day at the local Carbondale store and once I unboxed it and started using it I realized why. For this price point, the screen image quality and audio are unbeatable. Usually, with budget TVs viewing angle is distorted at certain ranges, but on this one it's perfect from all size. There is a digital sound port, and the onboard sound is very good, too. At first I thought it was a weak point until I checked the remote and found it was only at 1/10 volume. It's a particularly good TV if you have a Prime account because of the way Amazon populates the home screen and arranges the Prime video options so nicely. It has Alexa and you can add apps to it. As if all that were not enough, there are 4 HDMI ports on this jewel and RCA inputs if you wanna connect your legacy equipment or older version gaming systems. You simply cannot go wrong with this TV. Yay Best Buy and yay Insignia

    Impressive for what it is.

Coming from a 55" full 4k Tcl Roku 6-series this little guy is pretty impressive for a 720P HD set. I initially got the tv for my little Chihuahua to watch while away from work and it's a very capable and decent tv with a excellent remote compared to my Roku version, and the speakers are pretty good! Pros: Alexa voice remote is fantastic Picture 7/10 Sound 6/10 Features 10/10 Remote 10/10 Alexa 10/10 Build quality was pretty good 8/10. Inputs 8/10 Brightness 8/10 Now to the cons: Bad plastic smell out of the box. Strong. Picture is a little muddy sometimes on certain channels and content but it is a 720P and not a 1080P with HDR. It doesn't have those bells and whistles. NO HDR! That's pretty sad, most portable monitors on Amazon have HDR and are also full HD. I think not being full HD in 2021 for all tv's is a marketing move to make more money. 720P is a dead technology but it works okay for my dog watching tv.

I bought this on sale for $99.95. At that price it is a real bargain. Nice picture, nice sound, and user friendly. I didn’t read the instructions and the set up and navigation were easy. At full retail I would only give it 3 stars.

    perfect kitchen TV!

This is a perfect little kitchen TV that is pretty much ready to go right out of the box. For $80 (on sale) it has better than expected picture quality and the Fire TV software just works. If you're looking for a small desk/treadmill/kitchen TV this is a super option.

Fair price if on sale have good output sound but not a friendly setup and slow starting. Remote control does not have numbers and alphabet so it is hard to choose a desired channel instantly Not good for people who does not have Amazon account. Not easy to tune back and forth from Air channels Cable input or go back to Amazon account Need improvements on remote control design

    Doesn't really work with coax

    Posted .

I just spent WAAAY too long setting up this TV. Although it says it works with a coax cable (it's my mother's TV); it would not connect to her cable (Comcast), but received all the Alexa stuff perfectly. FWIW -- I went to the Insignia site and watched all their videos, went through FAQs, Googled the hook up, scanned for channels 20 times -- nothing. I stole an HDMI cable from another TV and hooked it up and it synced with Comcast right away and worked perfectly, although the picture wasn't great. I then hooked it up with Roku and it hooked up fine and I was able to get to Comcast through Roku. The picture was much better. I now ordered an HDMI cable as a more permanent solution, but it would have saved me a ton of time, a fair bit of cursing and a lot of aggravation if I'd just known this when I bought the TV. I could have ordered an HDMI cable from Best Buy and had it when I set up the TV. While it's not much, Best Buy lost out on this sale, but also didn't win any affection from me. It says it works with coax; it has connections for coax; but if you want to hook up to your home cable, you need HDMI.

3 years old and still going strong!!! This TV was easy to progarm and continues to provide an excellent picture. The sound is what you would expect but it's super easy to connect a bluetooth speaker - or even my airpods!

    Great value

I was pleasantly surprised with the TV, especially if you can get it for the sale price. Picture quality is good and sound is "good" for a 24 inch TV using built in speakers. The Fire TV interface is not very good. It's way too busy, there are ads, its hard to find things, but again, it's not as bad as I expected. If you use an external streaming device (Apple TV) and plug it in the ARC controlled HDMI input, using the Apple TV remote will automatically turn it to the input. Speech control works pretty good. If this was not at the sale price, the rating would be much lower, but the TV is a great value.

Great picture, but the remote lacks a numbered key pad, so you have to scroll to find your desired channel while on over the antenna !
