Insignias tvs have gotten better over the years. They have been performing great in my home. The fire tv system moves quickly with no lag time that other smart tvs display. I am very pleased. Its been over a year now of using this in my bathroom near the tub.

It's a nice TV and the price is great and we love the detail in color and clarity. Sadly when you send announcements through the Alexa device it turns on the TV. So in our case have bought two of them, we must walk around turning them off after we send an Alexa announcement.

I bought this tv for my guest room. Since I am out of YouTube TV allowances, this set will only be used for streaming, not live tv It was super easy to set up. The picture is great and the sound, for a small set, is good. I don’t think it would be good enough for the living room ( too small, anyway), but perfect for a bedroom. I would strongly recommend it.

Great little fire tv for the kitchen. Had a 24" Vizio with a fire stick and it sucked compared to this tv because the Insignia has a 5G radio and the Vizio only had a 2G. You'd think in this day and age all tv's regardless of their size would be able to connect to 5G. Plus the price was right as I purchased it on a pre black friday deal.

A right-sized television for use in the kitchen, this fits perfectly under the upper cabinets. It's space saving, hooked up with wifi (so no pesky wires on the counter) and can entertain me while I do dishes, or fix a meal. Also great for nice background music when I do chores--good sound speaker.

I purchased this for $99 to replace my parents' age-old CRT that has been in their kitchen since forever ago. One thing the CRT has going for it is longevity. But I thought they might enjoy a more advanced TV, with the ability to watch Netflix and Hulu around the dinner table. But I may have overshot here, as my parents are both elderly and don't really want new technology to learn, especially as frustratingly complex as Fire TV is. Roku has definitely nailed down the smart TV OS, and they are used to that interface. This new Fire TV is different, but also maddeningly complicated. Voice remote? Check! This is one of the nice things about this TV, and why it gets most of its 3-star rating. My parents have a couple of Amazon Echo devices, and this nearly seamlessly joined into this ecosystem and we were able to turn it on and off using the Alexa voice commands. Having the ability to start, pause, and turn off the TV by voice marvels my parents, and they love it. Alexa is unfortunately fairly bad at figuring out what you want; worse than Siri and WELL behind what Google's Assistant can do. "Hey Google, turn on closed captions" and whatever streaming app is playing will enable closed captions. With Fire TV? No such luck. So you have to go wading into the needlessly complicated menu structure just to find out how to enable/disable closed captions. This ALMOST made me take the TV back for a refund, because my dad is hard of hearing and the ability to quickly enable/disable CC is critical. Fire TV makes this very convoluted, jumping through various different menus depending on what you are watching. Hooking up an XFinity DTA box amazingly does not support CC via HDMI. I'm not sure if this is Comcast or Insignia/Amazon's fault, but it's embarrassing when their old CRT TV would do this with a button on the remote control. The picture quality is decent at 720p and for the price point, it's nothing to complain about. Audio is thankfully quite loud and clear, which is an improvement over the old CRT we replaced. Overall, for $99, I am somewhat satisfied. I would be happier if Fire TV could enable/disable CC using a voice command (seriously, how is this not a thing?!). I think this would be better suited for a younger audience, maybe for a dorm room or spare bedroom, but look elsewhere if your parents don't want to learn a whole new approach to watching TV.
